useful index, directionally correct at thresholds
One thing that blew my mind is how many useful indexes are out there people don't write down. Some chock it up to experience but it's more that books can be sparse on sage ones.... mostly looking at material science here, man what a complex subject. It's like hey let's take all the other complex things left over and put it in a giant subject few people understand or care about vs the latest webservice. The mismatch in how many people/headcount, expected duration of the hire, and things budget and ye olde curse of usually a derivative org rather than a "prime" org is one of the weirdest. Not sure how much longer it'll hold though given so many fields changing rapidly, esp software.
