El conjunto competitivo incluye TV por cable / transmisión, servicios de transmisión con publicidad ( i.e. Hulu, Peacock, Netflix Basic ), Netflix ( ad free ), Amazon Prime Video, Disney , Apple , Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter. Aparecen estos datos en un posteo del 1 de Mayo orientado a publicidad en shorts: "Esta semana en el IAB NewFronts, estamos anunciando nuevas formas de introducir Shorts en sus campañas de sensibilización para llegar a audiencias de YouTube altamente comprometidas" Estos cambios orientados a poder publicitar en el entorno de Shorts implican que funciones que ya existían en Google Ads también se ponen a disposición de ese formato. Finalmente reivindica toda la potencia de YouTube "Con todo tipo de contenido, cada género de música, cada categoría de entretenimiento y cada formato para interactuar con video ( en vivo, corto, largo, podcast, música ), YouTube tiene todo lo que la gente ama en un solo lugar. Los cortos y los videos de larga duración alimentan el compromiso y el descubrimiento entre sí y los espectadores se mueven sin problemas entre los dos.
