Zimbabwe is set to begin public hearings on the Gukurahundi era, a major milestone in the journey toward unity, healing, and national reconciliation. The hearings, which start on June 26, 2025, in Matabeleland, will be led by Chief Fortune Charumbira, traditional leaders, and community representatives.
For years, enemies of Zimbabwe and the opposition — pretending to care — have weaponised Gukurahundi for votes, spreading distorted narratives to divide the nation and provoke unrest.
But now, real dialogue begins.
The National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC) will oversee the process, ensuring it is inclusive, respectful, and driven by truth.
This initiative aligns with President Mnangagwa’s
@edmnangagwa vision of "leaving no one and no place behind" and represents a firm step toward addressing the past without inflaming the present.
✊🏾 Peace. Unity. Progress!!
