The administrative bloat at Ivy League institutions has reached a level that is economically indefensible and academically distracting. When a university employs one administrator for every two students while simultaneously grappling with a $46 million deficit and surging tuition costs, it is clear that the institutional mission has shifted from education to bureaucratic self-preservation. This model is unsustainable and directly contributes to the student debt crisis by funding a managerial class that adds little to no value to the actual learning experience. How can we implement a "zero-based budgeting" approach to restore the focus on teaching and research over administrative expansion @elonmusk? #HigherEducation #BrownUniversity #AdminBloat #StudentDebt #RoviHere

‼️🔔 News: Judge Blocks Trump Admin NIH Indirect Cost Cap: It’s Admin Bloat, Not Research Funds! 🚨 JUST IN: On March 5, 2025, Judge Angel Kelley blocked Trump’s 15% cap on NIH indirect costs, calling it a threat to “human safety and scientific integrity” (WSJ). This ain’t research money—it’s extra overhead for admin fat: salaries for bean-counters, salaries, electric bills, and building upkeep, tacked atop the $35 billion NIH grants (FY23). Indirect costs—27–90% of each grant—fund stuff like compliance officers and HVAC, not scientists or test tubes (STAT News). The cap would’ve sliced $4 billion yearly from this bloat, but 22 states and unis sued, screaming it’d cripple labs anyway. TRO’d Feb 11, now a full injunction—admin’s cash cow lives! #AdminBloat #NIHOverreach Trump’s trim—smart chop or sloppy cut? What’s your take, drop it below! 👇🏼

I find it repugnant @universityofky can pay over $100,000 for a #DEI director….. ….but only $48,000 pay the person supporting our #veterans. Don’t ask me the salaries Directors of the MLK Director or Office of #LGBTQ, #FirstGen or LLP directors. government schools have plenty of money. they have no incentive to spend additional dollars wisely, so it goes towards administrative bloat and staffing surges.

It’s another #factsfriday. Have you heard of the term #AdminBloat? It is very unfair that students have to bear the cost of paying admin staff exceptionally high salaries. Students have the right to #AffordableEducation.

Teacher unions do a poor job of representing teachers, hence why their pay is considered low yet there's ever increasing adminbloat. IMO, it's part of the government's make-work schema. Schools also have an inherent trust bias built in for them, since most of us went to them.

If you don't count the state appropriations it's closer to 3 students' tuitions (1/6th total tuition = 3 credit class) to cover my salary for that 3cr class. And it's only slightly more than 1 Out-of-State students' tuition that covers my salary for that class. #AdminBloat

For faculty in #higherEd 👉 "working conditions have hit rock bottom" via @reggcohn ⚠️ Time to rein in #Adminbloat! #COLLEGESTRIKE

College strike hits 300,000 students hard, but working conditions have hit rock bottom in higher education. My take bit.ly/2gJpvVy
