Stop polishing prompts. Start building verifiers. Models keep getting smarter. The clever prompt that gave you an edge last year is now table stakes, and next year it might be noise. What doesn't depreciate: the ability to check whether the work is actually correct. Give a capable model a goal and a reliable verifier, and it will generate, test, fail, and fix on its own. The loop does the work. Your prompt just starts it. This is why agentic coding works so well today. Tests, compilers, and linters are free verifiers. The hard frontier is everything else: the tasks where "is this right?" has no cheap answer. That's where the real engineering effort belongs now. Prompts are instructions.
