My first computer was a Commodore 64 breadbin. The games back then were amazing for the time.

I do not know. I have 5 or 6 of his digitized songs but have only ever played them on my C64 Breadbin from Xmas 1983. He has them on CSDb.dk so you could grab them there and try it yourself.

Hmmm. The wife is out tomorrow. Now, should I fire up the C64 breadbin, wedge, or go all in with the Amiga!

You've reminded me that I have nachos paying rent in my breadbin. Good choice of footy food.👍 Sometimes I mistake the England flag for the Red Cross Ambulance Service and think thank goodness we're never far away from an ambulance. She'll definitely remember them better than me

Presently using SD2IEC (TFW8B) and 1541 Ultimate II (Gideon Logic) with my stock breadbin. Tweaking the C64 like I was a rich and could buy 'all the things' in 1986/87 is amazing. I also want a Turbo Chameleon - but that'll have to wait.

Commodore was no existent on the shops in my city. I had to go to Lisbon to first see a C64 breadbin playing Microprose Soccer, but that was even when I already got an A500. Commodore in my country, started with the A500, not C64, which was a shame. Flocks of ZX Spectrum here.

I did. I built the desk in the center in Jan & Feb 1984 in 11th grade woodshop for my C64 Breadbin that I received for Xmas 1983. The desk and C64 Breadbin have both served me well for the last 42 years.

I sure do. Playing it on my C64 Breadbin listening to the great music and digitized voices in the game that were able to be done with the use of the C64s GREAT SID (sound) chip. #C64

I pick Sonic on my C64. It was ported to the C64 in 2021. Here it is on my C64 Breadbin from Xmas 1983 and 1702 CRT monitor from Feb 1984. #C64 #Commodore64 #C0mmodore

On June 16th 2026, Commodore takes two steps forward, one step back. June 2, 2026, on the official Commodore site Perifractic (Christian Simpson, Commodore CEO) gave an update after nearly a year of the Commodore IP revival. It's been a good Commodore year! What was shared and what is happening on June 16th? Key Highlights from the Announcement • Strong sales and progress: They've manufactured over 30,000 new Commodore 64 Ultimates (breadbin style). Pre-orders are fulfilled, and the Founders Edition golden units are almost sold out. The C64C slimline version is now in pre-order -> checkout.commodore.net/refer… (Save $10 using this link) ACHIEVEMENTS • Launched on Best Buy. •Received excellent reviews (e.g., 10/10 from IGN calling it a "masterpiece"). • Added over 10,000 officially endorsed titles to their CommoServe online library (games, demos, SID music, etc.). • Launched the CLAP (Commodore Licensing and Affiliate Pipeline) open beta — allowing community projects to officially use the Commodore branding after checks. • New website improvements, especially order tracking. • Operating as a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) to focus on preservation and open tech. PHILOSOPHY Christian Simpson is sticking to the "Retro and Future" pillars (retro-futurism), knowing Commodore can't survive on nostalgia alone, so they're balancing preservation (backwards compatibility, licensing community work) with expansion (new peripherals, accessories, software) and imagination — picking up where Commodore left off in the 90s. THE TEASE The most exciting part is the cliffhanger: Christian Simpson says something big is coming that could make people "flip out." Marketing won't let him spill details yet, but he urges people to mark June 16th for "Commodore answers." WHAT'S NEXT? WHAT IS THE JUNE 16TH ANNOUNCEMENT? Here are theories on what the June 16th announcement will be... which one do you think hits the nail on the head? 1. Amiga Revival or New Hardware: The most exciting theory would be progress on the Amiga line. Commodore has already done the C64 Ultimate breadbin and now the C64C. A modern Amiga (like an A1200-inspired machine, FPGA or hybrid) would be the logical "big flip-out" moment. 2. Commodore OS Update or Modern Platform. There's fresh talk about reviving or updating a Commodore-branded OS. Christian Simpson has referenced retro-futurism and "picking up where they left off in the 90s." A new GUI/OS that runs on new hardware fits the "Retro and Future" pillars. A video by Dan Wood is circulating about "Commodore’s Weirdest OS Is Back For 2026" fuels this theory. 3. Major Partnership, Expansion, or "One Step Back" Reveal The announcement could involve a significant licensing deal, further retail expansion (beyond Best Buy and Hammacher Schlemmer), or a major partnership... who could this be? It might also tie directly into Christian’s “two steps forward, one step back” line — possibly addressing ongoing supply chain challenges or providing an update on the trademark disputes with the Italian Commodore Industries S.r.l. (the separate company that has been using the Commodore name in Europe). Clearing up legal or operational hurdles would help smooth the path for future growth and licensing. 4. Concession on Retro While Releasing Modern Tech A final possibility is a temporary “retro pause” while Commodore shifts emphasis toward modern technology. This could mean launching a Commodore-branded modern PC or mini-PC line. As Commodore International Corporation (CIC) is a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC), it is legally required to balance profit with a specified public benefit (such as education, preservation, and community impact). This could include an education-focused device or updated software that supports their mission of preservation and positive community contribution. MY PREDICTION? My overall prediction is that the big reveal will be a strong “future”-focused product — most likely a modern OS/platform announcement or a hybrid hardware/software offering. Maybe something like a Commodore-branded modern machine running a refreshed Commodore Vision OS, with excellent retro compatibility plus forward-looking features. Not just another pure nostalgia hardware release, but something that genuinely excites the community while clearly demonstrating long-term viability and growth beyond the retro market. What do you think the big announcement be on June 16th?

The C16 feels just like typing on a VIC-20 or C64 Breadbin to me. I do like the feel of my plus/4. I like typing on my Commodore MAX-04 and C116 because their keyboards are different and unique to me.

Apropos nothing. I had a friend called Andy. Andy's love life was a shambles. He chased after so many young gay men. He became enamored with a young drag queen, Mike. Mike was at Uni studying game design & in 2nd year he decided to move out of his parents' into student digs. Andy being Andy decided to "help" the object of his desire. He bought him expensive makeup & hairdryers to help with the drag queening, items for the kitchen like a kettle, a huge amount of instant coffee, cups, a breadbin, an egg poacher, cupboard organisers etc. Loads of other stuff too like linen baskets, a shoe rack, PS3, DS, X Box & various games, pots & pans, fridge organisers, knife sets etc. What none of us knew at the time was that Andy was married. To a woman. We went round their house & it was palatial. The kitchen was like the set of a film. Le Creuset, high-end coffee machines, they even had a cup warmer for goodness sake. His wife, as it turns out was in a relationship with another woman & said she was quite happy to allow him to buy her handbags & jewellery because she was left to her own devices in a lovely home, filled with expensive trinkets & he left her alone. It takes all sorts.
