Struggling to cross the barrier of solving 4th problem in LeetCode contest ? Here are few things which helped me overcome this problem : 1) Important adv topics which you should be familiar with: Dynamic Programming , Graphs , Segment Tree, Advanced concepts in Trees like LCA, Binary Lifting, Euler Tour, Path Queries , Subtree Queries, String Algorithms, DP optimizations and some level of mathematics ofc :) 2) The best resource which you can essentially follow is CSES Problem Set. It covers problems on wide variety of topics I mentioned above. This was game changer in my case. Most of the time 3rd or 4th problem isn't very hard if you are already familiar with those advanced concepts. CSES problem set : lnkd.in/dR36UEza 3) There are 2 category of hard problems : a) Which directly involves any standard but advanced concept. If you are already familiar with that concept it is no more a hard problem for you. b) Which involves multiple concepts in single problem which most of the people are already familiar with but the hardest part here is to figure out those individual components making sure to come up with optimal approach since constraints are bit tight. For ex : You can create a problem involving DP on trees some kind of math like PnC / Primes/ Factorization some kind of range queries all together. 4) We fail to solve this type of hard problem when we are not familiar with / not comfortable with /not able to figure out those components. You can fix first two problems easily by learning those concepts properly and solving few problems until you get comfortable. But third problem (not able to figure out) can only be fixed by practice :) 5) Get good at analyzing constraints. This is the easiest way to predict/figure out what approach will work/is expected. For ex : n<=15 ? Maybe bitmask DP ? Maybe subsets/backtracking ? 6) Last and most important thing is intense practice of hard problems which everyone hates. You can ignore it as your crush ignores you but being good at anything takes a lot of time and efforts . That time can be different for different people based on their capabilities. I've solved over 300 Hard tagged problems on LeetCode and a lot more on CSES and CodeForces. Does this guarantee that you'll fix the issue? Majorly but not totally . Even I still sometimes struggle with 3rd or 4th problem but it's fine coz real improvement and learning lies in contest which you are not able to AK :) That's it from my side ๐Ÿ’™ Feel free to share or repost this. It takes a lot of time to write such non-GPT posts :) I don't think a lot of people will read till the end... #leetcode #datastructures #algorithms #dsa #competitiveprogramming #codeforces #codechef #codingcommunity #placements

The Hidden Math Rules of Our Universe ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ“ Ever wondered how your phone knows exactly where you are on a map, or how video game characters move so smoothly? It isn't magicโ€”itโ€™s Trigonometry. Trigonometry is the branch of mathematics that studies the relationships between the sides and angles of triangles. While it might look like a bunch of confusing formulas on a whiteboard, it is actually the secret code behind almost all modern technology, engineering, and science. Here is a look at how this ancient math runs our modern world. ๐Ÿš€ 1. Space Exploration & Astronomy Astronomers can't exactly drop a tape measure from Earth to Mars. Instead, they use a technique called triangulation. By measuring the angle of a star from two different points in Earth's orbit, scientists use trigonometric functions to calculate mind-boggling distances across the cosmos. ๐ŸŽฎ 2. Video Games & 3D Animation If you love gaming, you love trigonometry. Video game engines use sine, cosine, and tangent functions to rotate objects, calculate the trajectory of a thrown projectile, and simulate realistic lighting. Without it, Mario couldn't jump in a smooth arc, and open-world games would be completely flat. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ 3. GPS & Navigation Your phoneโ€™s GPS relies on a process called trilateration. At least four satellites beam signals to your phone, measuring how long the signal takes to arrive. By treating these distances as the sides of triangles and calculating the intersecting angles, your exact location on Earth is pinpointed instantly. ๐Ÿ—๏ธ 4. Architecture & Engineering Before a single brick is laid for a skyscraper or a bridge, engineers use trigonometry to calculate structural load. It helps them determine the exact angles needed for support beams to ensure that massive structures can withstand wind, gravity, and earthquakes. ๐Ÿ’ก Quick Fun Fact The word "trigonometry" comes from the Greek words trigonon (triangle) and metron (measure). It was originally developed by ancient astronomers to track the movement of stars and planets! From the music frequencies traveling into your earbuds to the flight paths of commercial airplanes, triangles are quietly shaping our reality. Next time you see a triangle, rememberโ€”itโ€™s not just a shape; it's a tool that builds the future! #MathIsBeautiful #Trigonometry #StemEducation #TechAndMath #GamingPhysics #AstronomyLovers #EngineeringLife #EdTech #DataScience #CodingCommunity #LearnMath #SpaceExploration @NASA @SpaceX @GoogleMaps @Unity3d @EpicGames @UnrealEngine @TEDTalks @KhanAcademy
