Incredible that SNP Councillors take pride in demolishing that in the city that so recently lost another fine building to a vape shop fire. What a disgrace. And as for the proposed replacement 🤢

This building, or at least the beautiful facade needs preserved. We lost the grand Hillhead Burgh Hall, when it was knocked down to be replaced by the utterly hideous Hillhead Library building - this needs saved.

Absolutely miserable news. I know what you mean by "losing far too many..." but this is active, wanton destruction of the city's heritage.

Do you know what the proposed replacement look like?
It's the west end so at least the rich people will kick up a stink about it being out with the local character

Disappointing, but not entirely surprising.
We are losing far too many of our historic buildings.

St Peter's Church, Elgin Avenue is closing due to "building related issues and funding challenges." Can anyone shed some light on this decision? This is a new Church, replacing the original Victorian building (where Thomas Hardy was married) in the 1970s. Announcement below. 1/2
