this is too sweeping a notion, not every new player is a worthwhile player, and we have many examples of devteams that essentially gutted the mmo's soul by constantly selling to the lowest common denominator. so it depends

I have more than 70 replies to the Gamedev glossary I'm currently writing. Thank you so much everyone! I'm considering redoing this map so you'll know which devteams contributed to this book! Form to fill here ⬇️ docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F…

All the Discord servers are handled by the same people of Devsis USA, they have nothing to do with the DevTeams of the game, their work is about Community stuff

seconding. baselessly speculating that execs saw the gacha train speed past and made devteams chase it, to the significant detriment of several games (e.g. ngs and frontiers going open world) also of note imo, sega's usage of "F2P" seems to be inclusive of mobile and gacha games

Dev teams are under constant pressure to move faster. But too often, speed comes with a cost: post-launch bugs, feature backlogs, and product decisions that create more work after release. Our CPTO Yardley Pohl (@yipstas) recently shared her perspective with @Forbes on how teams can balance product quality with speed to market and how better strategy before launch can prevent costly issues later. 👨‍💻 Dev teams — let’s be honest: What actually eats most of your development time? • Writing code • Fixing bugs • Managing workflows • Tool overload Or… something else? Tell us in the comments 👇 #Syncfusion #CodeStudio #DevTeams #TechDiscussion #DeveloperLife

Run-the-business work quietly consumes 30–40% of team capacity. Bug fixes. Support. Small requests. Firefighting. That time has to come from somewhere. #Engineering #Leadership #DevTeams

The companies and AI devteams that try to set limits around moral and ethical frameworks get kicked out and the Palantirs and Andurils remain. Good example of this was Anthropic, later devs from multiple companies wrote an open letter with this message. anthropic.com/news/statement…

The point here is that there's no "figuring it out" for them. You get absolutely zero say in a production if you arent a higherup (or in a very generous company like valve). So to blame the devteams for bad concepts being made is blaming them for nothing they did wrong

No dude, claiming racism to some as subjective as a game review is not valid. Didn't Marvel rivals or Black Myth get 8's and are both made by Eastern DevTeams? How is it a personal attack if he's only asking this Grummz dude to answer for his game before claiming racism because some game didn't get a stellar review when most would agree the Story is lacking and the controls are a mess. A 6/10 isn't a bad score lmao.

now imagine trying to release a game in that plague ridden trench Im lucky I've got a decent sized audience but most devteams are doomed to obscurity amongst 5000 grass growing simulators, hentai visual novels, and match 3 games

Most audits leave you with a 30-page report… and a backlog that nobody has time to implement. 🤯 Our Mob Audits work differently. 😎 Instead of analyzing your code and sending recommendations, we join your team and fix the problem together — directly in your production code. This is a high-intensity done-with-you session where our experts mob program with your developers and tackle real challenges like performance bottlenecks, architectural issues, or tricky bugs. 🦸‍♂️ How a Mob Audit works: 1️⃣ Mission Scoping We start with a discovery call and define a concrete mission. Example: fix a memory leak, improve Core Web Vitals, or untangle architecture. 2️⃣ Concept Download Before touching the code, we align your team on the theory and concepts behind the problem. 3️⃣ The Mob Session Your team drives the keyboard. Our expert navigates the solution. Together we debug, profile, refactor, and test — in your actual repository. 4️⃣ Implementation & Handover We close the session with a working solution, a PR review, and documentation so your team can continue independently. What your team gains: ✅ Real fixes shipped to production ✅ Deep understanding of the root cause ✅ Hands-on learning in your own codebase ✅ Shared knowledge across the whole team No slides. No toy examples. No theoretical recommendations. Just real problems solved with your team. 👉 Learn more: push-based.io/mob-audits #MobProgramming #DevTeams #SoftwareArchitecture

$CDR.WA getting canned for -8% along with $TTWO $RBLX and some other video gaming sector, as a reaction to Genie 3 product launch, Google’s latest AI 3D Environment creator. Obvious overreaction. For one thing, it takes a LOT more than some AI prompts to make a playable, functioning game. Then after the fact it takes quite a bit more still to make a *good* game. AI has no intrinsic creativity and crap storytelling abilities. Beyond that, even *IF* the cost of producing games comes down due to AI, does the market really think the prime beneficiaries won’t be the already popular franchises with scale, massive devteams (currently) and beloved IP?

Idk what's in the water but emulator devteams everywhere have become way more trigger happy when it comes to piracy, even the non Nintendo ones. baffles me

Someone suggested they all started using the same 1-2 standardized engines (Unity et all) because it means they can swap out designers and devteams at will. No custom tools, no talent or tribal skill, no distinctiveness.

TF2, Dota, Portal, HL Valve have more games with this level of soul than not lmao I try not to fawn over devteams too much, but Valve's hit rate is just SO high
