Summer Internship on IoT and Data Analytics Begins at NIT Rourkela! The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Rourkela inaugurated the 'Summer Internship on IoT and Data Analytics for Smart System Design' on 8 June 2026 in the presence of Chief Guest Prof. Swadesh Kumar Pratihar (Dean, SRICCE-NITR). The month-long programme, which will continue until 7 July 2026, has brought together students from different institutions to gain hands-on experience in emerging technologies. The internship is being conducted under the patronage of Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao, Director, NIT Rourkela. Prof. Bibhudatta Sahoo, Head of the Department of CSE, is the Chairperson of the programme, while Prof. Suchismita Chinara, Associate Professor, Department of CSE, is serving as the Convener. The programme offers training in IoT fundamentals, Arduino and ESP microcontrollers, sensor interfacing, wireless communication technologies, cloud connectivity, Python programming, machine learning, data visualization, and smart system design. Through a combination of lectures, laboratory sessions, and project-based learning, participants will develop practical skills in designing intelligent systems and analyzing real-world data.
