BMA has called off resident doctors’ industrial action in England that was planned for 15th-19th June. The move is interesting and has generated a lot of debate amongst my professional colleagues on social media. Personally, I think the offer that has been put to resident doctors this time is, overall, disappointing for several reasons: - It includes no extra pay offer for current year. I personally think that after years of pay erosion, this should have been the SINGLE most important issue in any negotiations with the government. Sadly this has largely been ignored and nothing is on the table until April 2027, which also amounts to nothing significant. - Portfolio fees/membership fees will only be paid from April 2027 onwards. - No real commitment to full pay restoration compared to 2008 levels. - Not enough details about how the extra training places will be created. Will there be extra places for next application cycle? If government has no money to spend on doctors’ pay this year, as they claim, I wonder how they will be willing to pay for creation of extra training places. - No details about whether the extra training places will be at core/CT1-2 levels or at higher specialty training? If they are mostly at core level, it does not solve the bottle-neck crisis at entry into ST3/4 levels training. Positive bits of the offer (that I still would take with a pinch of salt): - Permanent contracts to all LEDs. This offers locally employed doctors job security and reduces exploitation of such doctors by employers/Trusts. Downside of this probably will be that a lot of these doctors will be stuck in such service-provision roles with no career progression. Moreover, if Trusts are reluctant to employ permanent contract employees (which they often are), will this encourage them hiring non-doctors on temporary/fixed-term contracts instead of LEDs? -Payment of exam/portfolio/membership fees by gov from Apr 2027 onwards. But question remains, if government pays the Royal Colleges, will they lose, even to some extent, their autonomy? How will I vote on the offer as a BMA member and LNC rep? I will vote 🗳️ NO. #BMA #ResidentDoctors #TradeUnions #DoctorsStrikes

Disturbing allegations from SRMS Medical College, Bareilly. A first-year MD Medicine resident allegedly jumped from the third floor after prolonged mental harassment. An FIR has been filed against senior residents and officials. If true, toxic hierarchy and workplace abuse in medical training cannot be tolerated. A fair investigation and accountability are essential.@myogiadityanath @narendramodi #MedTwitter #ResidentDoctors #MedicalEducation

🚨 Serious Concerns Over Alleged Illegal Detention of a Junior Doctor in Uttar Pradesh The medical fraternity across Uttar Pradesh is deeply disturbed by reports that a Junior Resident Doctor from SRN Hospital, Prayagraj, was allegedly taken into custody from his private residence in Rampur by individuals believed to be police personnel dressed in civil clothes. According to reports, no warrant was shown, no formal identification was provided, and the grounds for detention were allegedly not disclosed. Even more alarming are allegations that family members seeking information about his whereabouts were threatened, intimidated, and manhandled when they attempted to obtain basic details regarding his detention and safety. If these allegations are true, they raise serious questions about adherence to constitutional rights, due process of law, and the protection of personal liberty guaranteed under the Constitution of India. Every citizen, irrespective of profession, is entitled to legal safeguards, transparency, and protection from arbitrary detention. The issue has triggered widespread outrage among doctors. In response, Junior Doctors at SRN Medical College, Prayagraj, have reportedly initiated a complete strike, demanding immediate clarification regarding the doctor's legal status, safety, and whereabouts. The medical community is also expressing concern that while the incident under investigation appears to be related to a tragic road accident, there are allegations of selective action against a young doctor without a fair and transparent investigation. Medical associations have demanded that all available evidence, including CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts, be examined impartially before any conclusions are drawn. The administration must immediately: ▪️ Clarify the legal status and location of the detained doctor. ▪️ Ensure that all legal procedures have been followed in accordance with law. ▪️ Conduct a fair, transparent, and unbiased investigation. ▪️ Protect the rights and safety of the doctor's family members. ▪️ Engage with representatives of the medical fraternity to prevent further escalation. The medical fraternity has warned that if transparency is not maintained and due process is not ensured, protests may intensify across Uttar Pradesh, potentially affecting healthcare services statewide. Justice must not only be done but must also be seen to be done. #SRNMedicalCollege #Prayagraj #DoctorsProtest #MedicalFraternity #HumanRights #DueProcess #UttarPradesh #HealthcareWorkers #JusticeForDoctors #MedTwitter @myogiadityanath @brajeshpathakup @brajeshlive @PMOIndia @narendramodi @AmitShah @HMOIndia @UPGovt @Uppolice @dgpup @MoHFW_INDIA @mansukhmandviya @NMC_IND @IMAIndiaOrg @PIB_India @DDNewslive @ANI @PTI_News @timesofindia @the_hindu @IndianExpress @ndtv @CNNnews18 @News18India @aajtak @ABPNews @ZeeNews @republic @IndiaToday @HTTweets

🚨 Financial Burden on Resident Doctors at Dr. S.N. Medical College, Jodhpur 🚨 As per the official order issued by the administration, PG resident doctors residing in the hostel are being directed to either shift hostels or pay an additional ₹150 per day as "market rate" charges for the entire 3-year course period. This means an extra burden of approximately ₹54,750 per year, despite residents already paying around ₹26,495 annually towards hostel fees, electricity charges, and AC charges. The question is simple: ❓ What exactly is this so-called "market rate"? ❓ Under which rule or regulation are government resident doctors being charged such arbitrary additional fees? ❓ Why should resident doctors, who are already providing essential healthcare services day and night, be subjected to such financial exploitation? Resident doctors are trainees as well as the backbone of government hospitals. Imposing additional charges over and above existing hostel fees appears arbitrary, unreasonable, and contrary to the spirit of ensuring adequate welfare and accommodation facilities for postgraduate medical trainees. At a time when doctors are already facing excessive workload, safety concerns, and academic pressure, such decisions only add unnecessary financial stress. We demand: ✅ Immediate withdrawal of the additional ₹150/day charge. ✅ Transparency regarding the basis of this "market rate" calculation. ✅ Accountability and action against officials responsible for imposing such unjust charges. ✅ Intervention by NMC and the Health Department to protect the interests of resident doctors. Resident doctors deserve support, not arbitrary financial penalties. #ResidentDoctors #SNMCJodhpur #Jodhpur #Rajasthan #MedicalEducation #NMC #Doctors #PGResidents #HealthcareWorkers #MedicalStudents #RajasthanGovernment @BhajanlalBjp @RajCMO @PMOIndia @MoHFW_INDIA @NMC_IND @RajGovOfficial @DrManikSaha2 @DmJodhpur @DDNewslive @aajtak @ABPNews @ndtv @IndiaToday @News18India @ZeeNews @republic @TimesNow @CNNnews18 @ThePrintIndia @IndianExpress @the_hindu @TOIIndiaNews @PTI_News @ANI @Medical_Dialogues @IMAIndiaOrg @JPNadda @gssjodhpur @GajendraKhimsar @ashokgehlot51 @BmrAshok @ashok_Jodhpurii @dineshbohrabmr @arvindchotia @RavindraBhati__ @8PMnoCM @sarkari_doctor

After the horrific RG Kar Medical College incident, the Supreme Court constituted a National Task Force (NTF) to recommend measures for the safety and security of healthcare workers across India. Today, doctors across the country are asking: Where is that National Task Force now? Why are doctors still facing threats, intimidation, violence, vandalism, and interference while performing their duties? Recent events at SRN Medical College & Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, Prayagraj, have once again raised serious concerns regarding the safety of healthcare workers in government hospitals. If hospitals remain vulnerable to disruption, intimidation, and violence, then what has changed since RG Kar? 🔹 Have the NTF recommendations been fully implemented? 🔹 Have security audits been completed? 🔹 Are resident doctors adequately protected? 🔹 Who is accountable when healthcare services are disrupted due to violence and intimidation? Doctors are trained to save lives—not to work under threats and fear. The safety of doctors is directly linked to patient safety and the functioning of India's healthcare system. Healthcare workers deserve more than assurances. They deserve visible action, accountability, and security. #DoctorSafety #RGKar #NationalTaskForce #Prayagraj #SRNHospital #ResidentDoctors #StopViolenceAgainstDoctors #HealthcareWorkers #PatientSafety #MedicalProfessionals @PMOIndia @narendramodi @AmitShah @HMOIndia @MoHFW_INDIA @JPNadda @mansukhmandviya @NMC_BHARAT @DIPRIndia @myogiadityanath @CMOfficeUP @UPGovt @dgpup @Uppolice @prayagraj_pol @ANI @PTI_News @DDNews @aajtak @ABPNews @ZeeNews @News18India @IndiaToday @ndtv @CNNnews18 @Republic @timesofindia @IndianExpress @the_hindu @htTweets @IMAIndiaOrg @FAIMA_INDIA_ @UDF_BHARAT
🚨 Serious Concerns Over Safety of Doctors at SRN Medical College & Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, Prayagraj 🚨 A major confrontation has reportedly taken place at SRN Medical College and Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, Prayagraj, raising serious concerns regarding the safety and security of healthcare professionals working in government hospitals. According to reports, a woman lawyer injured in a road accident was brought to the hospital for treatment. An argument allegedly broke out over demands for immediate treatment, which escalated into a larger dispute between lawyers and doctors. Reports further suggest that hospital premises were vandalized, large groups gathered inside the hospital, and on-duty resident doctors—including female residents—were allegedly threatened, abused, and intimidated while performing their professional duties. Hospital services have reportedly been affected, with doctors demanding adequate security measures before resuming normal work. Doctors are trained to save lives, not to face threats, abuse, intimidation, or violence while performing their duties. If healthcare workers are forced to work in an atmosphere of fear, how can safe and effective patient care be ensured for the public? Any obstruction of government work, intimidation of on-duty doctors, vandalism of hospital property, or disruption of healthcare services must be investigated impartially and dealt with strictly under the law, irrespective of the individuals involved. The safety, dignity, and security of healthcare professionals cannot be compromised. Exemplary action is necessary to prevent such incidents from becoming a recurring reality in our healthcare institutions. #Prayagraj #SRNHospital #SRNMedicalCollege #DoctorSafety #HealthcareWorkers #StopViolenceAgainstDoctors #MedicalProfessionals #UttarPradesh #ResidentDoctors #HospitalSecurity #SaveDoctorsSavePatients @myogiadityanath @CMOfficeUP @UPGovt @dgpup @Uppolice @prayagraj_pol @MoHFW_INDIA @JPNadda @PMOIndia @mansukhmandviya @DDNews @ANI @PTI_News @timesofindia @IndianExpress @the_hindu @ndtv @CNNnews18 @Republic @aajtak @ABPNews @ZeeNews @News18India @IndiaToday @htTweets

🚨 Are Doctors Safe in Rajasthan ? 🚨 A deeply concerning incident has been reported at PBM Hospital, Bikaner, where a female resident doctor was allegedly assaulted while on duty in the Trauma Centre. Doctors dedicate their lives to saving patients, often working under immense pressure and in challenging conditions. No healthcare professional—especially a woman doctor on emergency duty—should have to fear violence while providing medical care. This incident raises serious questions: 🔹 Who is responsible for ensuring the safety of doctors in government hospitals? 🔹 Why do incidents of violence against healthcare workers continue despite repeated warnings? 🔹 How can quality patient care be delivered when doctors themselves feel unsafe? 🔹 When will effective security measures be implemented across public hospitals? We urge the authorities to ensure: ✅ Immediate and transparent investigation ✅ Strict legal action against those responsible ✅ Enhanced security in emergency and trauma centres ✅ Protection of female healthcare workers on duty ✅ Zero tolerance for violence against medical professionals Doctors save lives. Their safety must never be negotiable. @BhajanlalBjp @RajCMO @DrKirodilalBJP @gssjodhpur @PMOIndia @MoHFW_INDIA @JPNadda @INCIndia @INCRajasthan @GovindDotasra @AshokGehlot51 @ANI @PTI_News @aajtak @IndiaToday @ndtv @CNNnews18 @News18India @ZeeNews @ABPNews @republic @timesnow @ThePrintIndia @DainikBhaskar @PatrikaNews @FirstIndiaNews #DoctorsSafety #ProtectHealthcareWorkers #PBMHospital #Bikaner #ResidentDoctors #ViolenceAgainstDoctors #SafeHospitals #HealthcareSafety #Rajasthan
