I can’t justify paying for senior level engineering tools like Codex Pro monthly and still relying heavily on cloudbased backend platforms when Codex can literally manage VPS infrastructure directly and cut cloud expenses by 50% or moree.......Anyone effectively using Codex should already be thinking beyond fully managed cloud backends and moving toward leaner, selfmanaged VPS architecture where it actually makes sense. @levelsio stacks was what further motivated me to remove all my projs from cloud to vps. it's unreasonable to still be paying cloud in 2026 with all this Sota llms available to fully manage your vps even FAR more than cloud.

🛠️ DevLog – Testnet-1a Self-Managed #L3 Load Tests Testnet-1a (self-managed $COR #L3) has now crossed 1M transactions and is holding up well under continuous load. - Explorer: testnet1a-explorer.cortensor… - Dashboard: dashboard-testnet1a.cortenso… What We’re Seeing So Far - Around 25K session tasks driven by 6 automated load tests on Testnet-1a. - NodePool utilization is nearing ~80%, so we’ll need more nodes before increasing load further. - Oracles, indexers, and other infra components have been stable this phase - we haven’t needed restarts yet, unlike earlier L3 experiments. Next Steps - Ask node operators to move more miners from Testnet-0 (L2) to Testnet-1a so we can roughly split traffic 50/50 between L2 and self-managed L3 over the weekend. - Gradually raise traffic on Testnet-1a to find where it starts to struggle again and capture those limits for tuning. - Roll out a small Session module fix around dedicated-node settings on both Testnet-0 and Testnet-1a. For Phase #2, stability work will keep focusing on validators (v2/v3) self-managed L3, with validator scores feeding into richer SLA filters as we go. #Cortensor #TestnetPhase2 #L3 #SelfManaged #DePIN #AIInfra #NodeOps
🛠️ DevLog – Testnet-1a & Testnet-1b Status Quick #L3 self-managed check-in. 🔹 Testnet-1a – Load & Stability - 6 automated jobs are now running on Testnet-1a (self-managed $COR #L3). - So far, things look stable after the move to dedicated servers. - As this holds through the week, we’ll ask more node operators to migrate nodes over and gradually increase load. - Live stats: dashboard-testnet1a.cortenso… 🔹 Testnet-1b – Migration Ongoing - Testnet-1b (internal experimental #L3) is in the middle of its migration to the new dedicated setup. - This environment will stay our “breakable” lane for DA/Sequencer config experiments and ops playbook testing. For now, the main focus is soaking Testnet-1a under load and getting Testnet-1b fully settled on the new infra before we push harder. #Cortensor #TestnetPhase2 #L3 #DePIN #AIInfra

Cortensor self-managed COR L3 (Testnet-1a) update: temporary dedicated server fix looks rock-solid under load Since ditching the throttled cloud instance, no more connectivity/rollup hiccups – Sequencer DA no longer fighting network limits. Next: monitor stability over the coming ~24h under ongoing stress tests, while planning the permanent dedicated server migration for self-managed L3. Early signs point straight to cloud throttling as the culprit. Dedicated hardware winning for long-term self-managed path. Track it live: Explorer: testnet1a-explorer.cortensor… Dashboard: dashboard-testnet1a.cortenso… #Cortensor #L3 #SelfManaged #ArbitrumOrbit #DePIN #AIInfra

🛠️ DevLog – L3 Self-Managed: Temporary Fix Looks Stable Quick update on the self-managed $COR #L3 (Testnet-1a): 🔹 What We’re Seeing - Since moving the L3 stack from the throttled cloud instance to the temporary dedicated server, things have been much more stable under load. - No repeat of the connectivity / rollup hiccups we were seeing when Sequencer DA were fighting cloud network limits. 🔹 What Happens Next - We’ll keep monitoring Testnet-1a over the next ~24 hours under continued stress tests to be sure the behavior holds. - In parallel, we’re planning the move from this temporary box to a permanent dedicated server setup for the self-managed L3 stack. 🔹 Where To Track It - Testnet-1a Explorer: testnet1a-explorer.cortensor… - Testnet-1a Dashboard: dashboard-testnet1a.cortenso… So far, this strongly points to the cloud instance throttling as the root cause - and dedicated servers as the way forward for self-managed $COR #L3. #Cortensor #L3 #ArbitrumOrbit #SelfManaged #DePIN #AIInfra #DevLog
🛠️ DevLog – L3 Self-Managed: Temporary Fix → Path to Permanent Setup Quick follow-up on the self-managed COR L3 (Testnet-1a): 🔹 What We’ve Done - Moved the L3 stack off the throttled cloud instance onto a temporary dedicated server in the same data center zone. - All core L3 components (Sequencer, DA, RPC) are now running together on this temporary dedicated machine to eliminate cloud throttling as a factor. 🔹 What Happens Next (24–48h) - We’ll stress test this temporary dedicated setup over the next 24–48 hours with the same kind of network-task load as before. - If it stays stable under sustained traffic, we’ll treat it as confirmation that dedicated servers are the right baseline for self-managed COR L3. 🔹 Longer-Term Plan - Once validated, we’ll move L3 components onto permanent dedicated servers for the self-managed stack and formalize the recommended infra pattern (DA Sequencer RPC on dedicated / high-quality metal in the same DC). 🔹 Where To Watch - Testnet-1a Explorer: testnet1a-explorer.cortensor… - Testnet-1a Dashboard: dashboard-testnet1a.cortenso… #Cortensor #L3 #ArbitrumOrbit #SelfManaged #DePIN #AIInfra #DevLog

🛠️ DevLog – Self-Managed L3: Connectivity Findings & Next Steps Recent stress tests on Testnet-1a (self-managed $COR #L3) surfaced some very practical cross–data center connectivity limits in our setup. 🔹 What We’re Seeing - DA (Data Availability) & Sequencer are running in one data center - RPC is running in a different data center - Under sustained load, network hiccups between those DCs can: - Disrupt #L3#L2 data sync - Occasionally force DA resyncs when connectivity between RPC and DA/Sequencer becomes unstable 🔹 What We’re Planning - Co-locate core L3 components - Move RPC into the same DC as DA and Sequencer - Keep the critical L3 path (Sequencer ↔ DA ↔ RPC) inside a single DC to reduce reliance on cross-DC links - Tighten recovery & redundancy - Run multiple DA nodes, with one configured for regular snapshots to speed up recovery - Apply similar snapshot/restore patterns to Sequencer storage for cleaner failover and resync Overall, Testnet-1a is still holding up well for network and user tasks - these are the kinds of operational details we expected to uncover once we pushed the self-managed L3 harder. The next few weeks will be about making this setup more predictable before we lean on it as the long-term $COR home. #Cortensor #L3 #SelfManaged #ArbitrumOrbit #DePIN #AIInfra #DevLog

We must create and nourish movements against imperialism against nationalism against campism. True internationalism comes from supporting selfmanaged movements and ordinary people against all forms of authoritarianism-- rather than double standards, support, and apologia for evil

Spot on Neil. I'm with you. Wayne Swan's "squirreling" jab is pure envy politics. Superannuation was designed for self-reliance, and those managing their own SelfManaged Super Funds (SMSFs) embody that spirit navigating strict rules to secure their future. Unions fought for super in the 1970s with groups like the Meatworkers enduring lockouts to ensure workers could retire with dignity, not dependence (ACTU 2023). Swan should praise these responsible savers, not target them. Super's about independence, not a government tax grab.

I personally would prefer to have the 3rd signature to be a friend or in my possession also. Backpack could silently rug... which is a downgrade from a security perspective. Still better than a pure hot wallet. SelfManaged MS > cold wallet > backpack multisig > hot wallet

I am an #AbortionPills and #SelfManaged forever girl but we need real talk about the wide range of pain experienced during SMA and to ensure access to EMA/Self managed AND surgical/MVA. Too many providers both gatekeep pills AND block in clinic provision
Massive thanks to @_Nelly_London for sharing her abortion story with @CosmopolitanUK. The pain she describes is one of the reasons we want to make sure there are enough providers both pill and in clinic abortions 1/2 cosmopolitan.com/uk/reports/…
