If you're open to trying something new I've gotten a lot of mileage out of Cursor which is substainally better than it was a few months ago. Codex 5.5 Extra High is my daily driver. But I will switch into Composer 2.5 for easy tasks and Claude for any UI/UX. Using the plan mode is critical and if you dial in the plan it almost always executes it well. I have had to build up a library for shellscripts with a hook to run them on every commit for bad behavior the agent likes to engage in like excluding files from test coverage. Especially if you're working across repos I really recommend having a parent directory that you work out of with the various repos cloned down into it and .gitignored. Similar set up to what's recommended here: jxnl.github.io/blog/writing/…. The Cursor team released a plugin that I think is very helpful: cursor.com/marketplace/curso….

PS. Using -- to stop option parsing is really essential to use when invoking commands with glob-pattern arguments in shellscripts, or when passing on any untrusted inputs as arguments to external commands in programs/scripts! So a good thing to keep in mind :)

Back in my day, I'd spend a Saturday morning turning each of those tools by service groups into shellscripts. These days, an AI can produce that code via a cropped screenshot. Crazy.

I wonder if you also tackled the part where it has ';cat' behind the urls. Also some shellscripts have some formatting that the urls are not easily stripped :D

Das Ding ist von 2015 oder so. Das zeigt: Die Beschränkungen sind künstlich, um die Leute in kaputten Ökosystemen gefangen zu halten. Active Directory, Sharepoint, you name it. Die "Befreiung" brauchte technisch nicht mehr als ein paar Shellscripts, aber sie wollen halt nicht.

I have to say, as horrible as its syntax can sometimes be, perl is still a lot better than shellscripts (mostly because there is no equivalent of $PATH on a language level...). Although obviously, there are better choices. I would argue for tcc/lisp/APL

Ist mir auch schon passiert. Und dann dieses Getue, als wäre das irgendwie speziell, was die da machen. Mögen sie schnell mit sehr kleinen Shellscripts ersetzt werden. Wobei ich da auch nette Leute kennengelernt habe, klar. Aber insgesamt ist der ganze Job eine Website.
