Last week on Friday, Mpigi Resident Judge, Lady Justice Deepa paid a courtesy call on the Administrator General, Mr. Victor Manzi, at the new Office of the Administrator General located at JLOS Towers in Naguru.
During the visit, Mr. Manzi conducted a guided tour of the newly established offices and highlighted a number of reforms aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery in the administration of estates.
The Administrator General explained that the Office has streamlined key processes, particularly the opening of files and the issuance of Certificates of No Objection, resulting in improved turnaround times and enhanced service to the public.
He further revealed that the office is in advanced stages of launching an electronic Certificate of No Objection system. The innovation is expected to significantly reduce opportunities for forgery and strengthen the integrity, security, and authenticity of documents issued by the institution.
The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss ongoing modernization efforts and the challenges facing the institution. Mr. Manzi identified the digitization of manual records as one of the priority areas requiring urgent attention. He noted that the Office continues to manage a large volume of historical records in manual form, which poses challenges in records management and space utilization.
The Administrator General said plans are underway to fully digitize these records and migrate services to a web-based application system. Once implemented, the reforms are expected to improve efficiency, facilitate easier access to services, reduce physical congestion at the offices, and address existing space constraints.
Lady Justice Deepa commended the Office of the Administrator General for embracing technology and undertaking reforms aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency, and public confidence in the administration of estates
