𝐇𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 – 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝟕 (𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐈𝐈) Date: 15–19 December 2025 The Department of Education in Social Sciences (DESS), under its project “Development of Syllabi and Textbooks in Social Sciences for Grades 7 & 8” (PAC Code 5.07), is conducting a Hindi Translation Workshop for Grade 7 (Part II). The workshop is being held under the coordinator ship of Dr. Seema Shukla Ojha, Member Coordinator, Class 7 Social Science Textbooks (DESS), and is being attended by 8 esteemed experts from institutions across the country. 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 | 𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐓 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧-𝐜𝐮𝐦-𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐥𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 The Department of Elementary Education, NCERT, is conducting a 4-day Orientation-cum-Training Workshop for Key Resource Persons on the Newly Developed Textbooks at the Preparatory Stage for select Northern States/UTs at RIE, Ajmer, from 13–16 October 2025. A total of 61 participants from Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh representing all seven subjects: Mathematics, Our Wondrous World, Hindi, English, Arts Education, Physical Education, and Urdu are actively taking part in the workshop. Day 2 featured an insightful session by Dr. Neelkanth Kumar, Department of Education in Languages, NIE, NCERT, on the textbook “Veena”. This was followed by an engaging presentation by Prof. Varada Mohan Nikalje, Department of Elementary Education, NIE, NCERT, on the textbook “Santoor”. Participants enthusiastically took part in group activities and creative role plays, drawing inspiration from the themes of the textbooks. The sessions encouraged interactive learning, collaboration, and joyful exploration, echoing the essence of the Preparatory Stage. The day concluded with vibrant discussions and appreciation for the newly developed textbooks, reflecting participants’ excitement and positive feedback. ग्यारहवीं कक्षा की संस्कृत पाठ्यपुस्तक निर्माण हेतु पंचदिवसीय कार्यशाला का शुभारंभ राष्ट्रीय शैक्षिक अनुसंधान और प्रशिक्षण परिषद (NCERT), नई दिल्ली में 13 अक्टूबर 2025 से संस्कृत विषय की कक्षा 11 की पाठ्यपुस्तक निर्माण हेतु पंचदिवसीय कार्यशाला का शुभारंभ हुआ। कार्यशाला के उद्घाटन सत्र में भाषा शिक्षा विभाग (संस्कृत) के आचार्य प्रो. जतीन्द्रमोहन मिश्र जी ने अपने बीज वक्तव्य द्वारा कार्यशाला के उद्देश्य एवं विषयवस्तु पर प्रकाश डाला। तत्पश्चात् प्रो. किरण सलूजा, पाठ्यपुस्तक निर्माण समिति के अध्यक्ष, ने पाठ्यपुस्तक की रूपरेखा, विषय चयन और अभ्यास निर्माण की दिशा में विस्तृत चर्चा की। इस अवसर पर भारत के विभिन्न प्रांतों से आए 20 विषय विशेषज्ञों ने पाठ चयन, गतिविधि एवं अभ्यास निर्माण के माध्यम से पाठ्यपुस्तक की गुणवत्ता और शिक्षण उपयोगिता को समृद्ध करने की दिशा में कार्य आरंभ किया। विभागीय सहायक आचार्य डाॅं. देवकीनंदन, डाॅं. वाचस्पति झा ‘मणि’, डाॅं. सिद्धार्थ ए. भर्गव, एसआरए एवं जेपीएफ भी इस अवसर पर उपस्थित रहे। #NCERT #SanskritEducation #TextbookDevelopment #EducationForAll #SanskritWorkshop #CurriculumDesign #NCERTNewDelhi #Shiksha #IndianKnowledgeSystem

A review meeting with Academic and Non-Academic staff members were held under the Chairpersonship of the Director, NCERT, on 11.07.2025 in the Conference Hall, NCERT, New Delhi. This was the monthly review meeting chaired by Prof. Dinesh Prasad Saklani, Director NCERT, to assess the progress of academic and administrative work progress across various departments. The discussion focused on the implementation of NEP 2020, highlighting the completion of textbooks for Classes 4, 5, 7, and 8 and setting a target to complete the remaining textbooks in a time bound manner. The translation of textbooks into all 22 scheduled languages was emphasized for linguistic inclusivity. The meeting stressed the development of Teacher Handbooks and Annotated Editions, launching the NISHTHA training program, boosting research paper development, and expediting the Jaadui Pitara implementation and patent process. Strengthening RIEs and DM Schools as PM SHRI Schools, installing display boards, organizing PTMs, and introducing new courses and programs were also discussed. For administrative reforms, measures like transparent recruitment, promotions, CGHS facilities, and filling vacant positions for non-teaching staff were highlighted. The valedictory session of the Five-days Faculty Induction Program (FIP) for the newly recruited academic staff of NCERT at IIM, Nagpur, which was held on 7th February 2025 ended up nicely. The session had the gracious presence of Prof. Mukund Vyas, Dean, Executive Education; Prof. Prashant Gupta, Dean, Academics; Dr. Alok Kumar from IIM and Dr. Yadunath, Program Office, SNTC. All the participants expressed deep gratitude to the Director NCERT - Prof. Dinesh Prasad Saklani for providing such an opportunity for the Capacity Building of Faculty members at IIM, Nagpur. The participants also expressed their gratitude to the entire team of IIM, Nagpur. The logistics, administrative arrangements and other support provided by Shri Aman Sharma, Secretary, NCERT, was very well appreciated. The participants lauded the organization of this Faculty Induction Program with a thoughtful vision to arrange eminent speakers for the program. The hospitality of the IIM Nagpur was deeply appreciated. This was followed by the certificate distribution to all the 87 participating faculty members from NCERT (including NIE, RIEs, PSSCIVE, and CIET). Active participation, keen interest, motivation and performance of the participating faculty members of NCERT was well noted. Shri Anurag Behar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Azim Premji Foundation & Vice Chancellor, Premji University, took a session on ‘Nuances of Textbook Writing: Content and Style’ in a Five-day Faculty Induction Program (FIP) for newly recruited academic staff of NCERT at IIM, Nagpur on 7th February 2025. The session began with the discussion of socio-cultural, economic and other forms of diversities in Bharat and NCERT’s objective to cater to the educational needs of every child in the country. The role and huge impact of NCERT on the school education of the country in past, present and future was highlighted. The organic relationship between NEP-2020, NCFSE-2023 and textbooks was discussed and the need to write the textbooks from the vantage point of learning standards instead of only the content was highlighted. The conceptual trajectory including curriculum aims, curricular goals, competencies and grade wise outcomes was discussed. It was suggested to make the textbooks exciting and engaging in nature. It was also suggested that ‘Vision for textbook’ should be developed before developing the textbooks. Participants were motivated to be experts in knowing the enormous progressive reforms suggested in NCFSE-2023. At the end, participants were encouraged to be committed to their field as public education is the foundation of a vibrant democracy for a Viksit Bharat by 2047. Group presentations by participating NCERT faculty members were made on the fifth day (7th February 2025) of the Five-day Faculty Induction Program (FIP) of newly recruited NCERT academic staff being organized in IIM, Nagpur. The objective was to develop team work, peer learning, coordination, collaboration and content development skills among the participants. The presentation themes included Content development in Environmental Studies at Preparatory Stage, Capacity building of SRGs in teaching cross curricular areas in science at middle school level, Capacity building program for secondary stage teachers from gender perspective for effective inclusion, Yoga, Sports and Physical education, Integration of IKS in education, Integration of ICT, School complex management committee, cultural collaboration, Good governance model for school: Academic leadership, proposed model of good governance w.r.t. NCERT textbooks, the role of NCERT in Driving Educational Research and its future role in nation building. Presentations followed by thought provoking questions and constructive suggestions for quality enhancement of presented work added rigor to the intellectual discourse. Prof. Ashish Pandey from SJMSOM, IIT Bombay, took a session on ‘Fostering Research Environment: Enhancing Research Capabilities in Educational Institutions’ in a Five-day Faculty Induction Program (FIP) for newly recruited academic staff of NCERT at IIM, Nagpur on 7th February 2025. The session began with the discussion of key components of research including the importance of appropriate research questions, original and critical thinking, developing insight, conversation with scholars and collaboration. Various aspects of research methodology were discussed in educational context with examples; and a group activity related to the ‘Wilber’s Four Quadrants’ including individual objective, collective objective, individual subjective and collective subjective aspects, was conducted with the participants. ‘Intellectual courage’ was emphasized as the most crucial component of doing good research and the need to study any research problem with diverse ontological and epistemological stand points was highlighted. Need, significance and reasons of giving citation in the research were discussed w.r.t. the perspective of creative and scientific writing. Importance of ‘Vidya Arjan-Gain of Knowledge’ by Guru and shishya together was emphasized; and the great responsibility of Teachers to bring values and ideal in the society was highlighted. The participants were motivated to realize their foundational role in the building of Viksit Bharat-2047 in terms of bringing excellent and original research outputs.
