The 765/400 KV Air-Insulated Substation at Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, helps anchor the power network for the Chennai-Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor. MEIL Group built this facility for TANTRANSCO under a full turnkey contract, installing seven 500 MVA transformers, high-voltage switchgear, and SCADA systems. Now that it is operational, the substation keeps the grid stable, links renewable energy sources to the main line, and prevents power losses across industrial hubs and towns.
