I went to a @WriteSpeakCode meetup years ago where I gave a talk arguing something very similar! That storytelling is your most valuable skill. Great quotes in here. There were a couple that really resonated with me around the work we do on the @K8sContributors comms team!
What's the most important skill you can develop right now? I'd argue it's persuasive communication skills. I study this topic and practice it here, with my team, and with customers. These are the books that have impacted me the most: seroter.com/2026/02/25/these…

I got the opportunity to build my first class with O’Reilly Media because of a panel I was on at @WriteSpeakCode that @AshColeman30 asked me to fill in for someone. It’s also how I met @techgirl1908 . So very grateful for this organization. ❤️🙏🏽
After giving a lot of time and consideration for the sustainability of the organization, We have decided to dissolve Write/Speak/Code by December 2023.

My first paid speaking gig was because someone pulled out of a panel for @WriteSpeakCode , and @AshColeman30 connected me with @techgirl1908 who was organizing to fill that spot. 💗💗💗 Two of the most phenomenal women I know.
How’d you get your first paid speaking gig?

I rejoined Twitter in 2017 at 25, when I went to #wsc2017conf: x.com/JQiu25/status/90117516… @WriteSpeakCode taught me a lot. Mostly, it taught me how to start speaking my truth. I also met such incredible women that week. @laurenzlong, @megha, @nerdneha, @kellymase to tag a few.

That is my understanding. The conference just finished and so it may be a few days/weeks before videos are published.

yup! I wrote that section because we had concerns about people submitting "one of your members called me an asshole and that's against your code of conduct" nonsense complaints.
