After five and a half happy years, today is my last day at AWS! I feel beyond lucky to have worked with such brilliant people, and to have learnt and grown from their input. I'll be joining @safetycli as a cofounder and CPO. More in the thread 🧵

The shift from customer obsession to AI obsession is so damaging and sad to follow. As a community member, the fun of promoting AWS services vanish when we see the AWS employees who openly appreciated our work flee AWS in droves in what can only be assumed be related to AI.

I'm hoping this will be a fun talk that will hopefully be insightful for those interested in open-source. Today was my last day at Amazon/AWS. After 12 years in total I've decided to take on a new adventure and will be starting my new gig in a few weeks. No badge on laptop photos, no Day 1 quotes. It's been a lot of a lot and im grateful to friends along the way. Cheers!!
