Veterans... correct me if wrong. Bandi Jackets & Waistcoats were always permitted at mess?
Indian Army drops colonial-era dress traditions, brings in bandi jackets under new uniform code shrts.in/03k44h14sj -via inshorts

That vibe! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†
It is truly astounding how this forum produces a dubious IAF rage baiting claim and then proceeds to build a Statue of Unity-sized edifice on top of it!!

The topic where IAF needs to be flogged, are not even in the public domain. Platforms, and our current state - is not on them.

Problem is of average of 76 IQ. In 200 million, it has less detrimental impact than in 1.5 billion. Be it any field - 76 IQ is the issue. And no, education is not the issue here - its the ability to use the mental capacities. The latter needs to be taught - application.
Spot on. Even sections of Indian armed forces top brass is also co-opted & proof is sabotage of indegeneous weapons & pushing usa weapons or usa systems. Today tejas is flying on usa engine. Zorawar running on usa engine. Indian naval ships running on usa engine.

Viceroy Commissioned Officers were started in 1885. British East India Company's Presidencies saw "Native Officers" be used till 1857 after which, once British Crown took over the administration, in 1885, it shifted to Viceroy Commissioned Officers. VCOs were officers.
There were no Indian "officers" in the Indian Army in 1902. Till about 1917, there was a bar that precluded the admission of Indians to commissioned rank in the Indian Army. Most natives got lower positions and they were just happy with that. All they wanted to do was to serve their foreign masters, in the hope that British Empire would last forever. @ShubhamAzadHind

Indian Officers got commissioned into Indian Army post 1947. Before that Indian Officers were commissioned into Royal Indian Army. The distinction is very much necessary to correctly put things in persoective, irrespective of the urge to push forth a narrative as being pushed.

Each & every Indian who is alive here, in this country, has a relative in ancient lineage that has been complicit in the Muslim Invasion, British Slavery & Partition of India. So this holier than thou attitude ... keep it someplace else.

I believe as an Army Commander of SWAC & then SC, he was very much part of the Op Sindoor core execution team unless you mean to say the Chief was giving orders to units directly & Army Commanders were on leave? What's with the 'fresh thinking'?
Replying to @MILVETERAN
I think both he and his father commanded the same corps. We have an armoured corps chief after a long time. Fresh thinking is required since Op Sindoor is still ongoing. Long range fires must get the required impetus.

How does it herald departure, as you claim, from CI Ops (again, as you claim)?
Appointment of Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth of Armoured Corps is a step in the right direction. Seniority has been respected and it also heralds departure from CI Ops Syndrome & gearing up for Short, Decisive Powerful Punches along our Western Borders.

I agree with Gen Naravane's statement. Bollywood war movies are a pack of tripe. With the exception of movies like Dhurandhar & Dangal, I steer clear. The Longest Day is an okay watch - Martin Blumenson's Sicily: Whose Victory? Was a good read to get an idea, back in 1990.

But, since topic has made a ripple - personally Martin Sheen starrer Apocalypse Now remains a personal favorite - covering the realities of brutality of war, & how the leadership creates killing machines only to hang them out to dry, for being too efficient. Typical.

IAF didnt choose 404. IAF didnt have disagreement over workshare with Safran either.
Kaveri with m88 core never looked better ๐Ÿ™‚ Tbh that option should have been looked into seriously, but sadly iaf was happy with a completely imported 404 over a "half imported desi engine" Here we are today, with no imported engines being delivered

There was a thought process within Indian higher defence thinking of doing away with Divisional HQs too, reorganizing the Brigades from the Infantry Brigade Group concept & placing them under command of Corps directly while reorganizing the Cยณ. Luckily, it remained a thought.
The Army is adopting a division-centric warfighting. But what will divisions' role be on the future battlefield if brigades are engaged in the close fight with the enemy? mwi.westpoint.edu/more-than-โ€ฆ

Usual tired reminder that production "restarts" are not a thing, in defence or elsewhere. There is no line where you just flick bunch of switches back on. You are building a new line, for what is essentially a new product. With the corresponding cost. twz.com/air/boeing-encourageโ€ฆ

Irony. Ex-CNS trying to portray as if crew manifest of every vessel where an Indian seafarer steps foot on, is sent as a CC pr BCC to Indian Navy & GoI. Strange.
Irony, Grok says: US Navy Combined TF 154 (HQ Bahrain) is currently headed by Indian Navy Cmde. Also, reciprocally embedded in CENTCOM Bahrain & IFC Gurgaon are IN/USN Liaison Officers. Incredible that USN should mount multiple attacks on Indian seafarers despite these links?

Lets read into few things a bit. Pure speculation. Armoured Corps Chief. South Western Army Command (which he headed prior to moving to Southern Command) getting an Armoured Corps GOC-in-C shortly. 1st 'theaterization' to be done here. Also, a very 'potent' force for 'west'
For the Armoured Corps, the end of a long wait to get one their own officers as the Army Chief may have ended now, but in the first four decades since the post of the Chief of Army Staff was created in 1955, six Armoured Corps officers, including the first COAS, Gen Rajinder Singhji, were from the Armoured Corps. Between 1955 and 1997, besides Gen Rajinder Singhji, Gen JN Chowdhary (1962-66), Gen AS Vaidya (1983-86), Gen VN Sharma (1988-90), Gen BC Joshi (1993-94) and Gen Roy Chowdhary, from the Armoured Corps became COAS.

Question - who is at fault here?
There is no follow-on order for Netra, Mk1A doesnt have a host aircraft, Mk2 wont start before 2032 (when Airbus starts work on modifying A321). In the next knife-fight, we are "out-AWACS-ed" by PAF, again!

No one will tell you. Humbly or otherwise
Many will be jumping with "ohh we can do this, we can do that", you gotta stay humble & ask the GoI about how many functional Phase-1 BMD units exist in India? how many interceptors are on order & getting produced?
