Everything about this is extremely insane. The idea that it is appropriate, even exciting!, for the prime minister to be deferential to a tech billionaire… the soft ball questions, the response that in the future there will be no jobs!! Mind boggling in both idea and execution.

From Rupert Murdoch’s ‘retirement’ statement. A paragraph which is about as dishonest as any you will read anywhere. Murdoch not only IS the elite, but ultimately decides what constitutes ‘the elite’ - gaslighting those who point out the dishonest

This is a great thread from @ellenejudson at @demos - particularly the question of - where is the citizen in digital policy making?
a busy day of #BudgetDay2023! and what, you might ask, has that meant for tech and digital? Lots to think about from the new tech regulation and quantum reports - linked below. Read on for three things to celebrate, and three things I think are missing...🤓

This is a pretty neat summary of all the things I am interested in (and lots of the people who are interesting in the field), but I would add one build - can thinking about the history of public service broadcasting help us to envisage these kinds of alternative futures?
