Let this be a lesson for Democrats: media outlets won’t hold Trump accountable. The incentive structures prioritize access over accountability. It’s exactly this type of normalization that makes some voters skeptical our democracy is at risk.

There IS a ray of hope. President Biden is appointing Federal judges at a rapid pace to counteract as much as possible trumps bullshit. Trump may be able to fire federal employees, but he can’t fire judges.

Journalists and members of the media continue to cover the Trump nominees in the traditional way: are they so unqualified that the Senate will reject them? This is missing the bigger point and they are failing to connect the dots. Trump started his bullying tactics even before he made the first announcement with the demand for recess appointments & inferring he would adjourn Congress himself in order to make them (yes, a President can do that). He is counting on enough Republicans bending to his will and thus being able to claim that they did their constitutional duty, when in fact it will be a complete and total abdication.
