Amen Governor! This is a primary election, not a rigged coronation.
The chairman of the party should not be insulting the intelligence of Republican voters. A debate was promised and these ridiculous criteria are being used to renege on that promise and to engineer a preferred outcome. Why not just take 90 minutes, find a tv partner, and let the candidates mix it up? The only reason why you wouldn’t is if the party hierarchy is serving outside interests instead of the best interests of the voters.

This guy doesn’t live in Florida, can’t vote in Florida, but somehow thinks he should have a say in our political process. He should read the replies. Floridians would like him to mind his own business and keep his fake polls to himself.
You’re the senior advisor to a sitting Lieutenant Governor who’s polling in the single digits against Trump-endorsed @ByronDonalds. You’re the Jim Cramer of politics. The Captain of the Titanic. Yet you’re the only who doesn’t seem to realize it.

The Governor is 100% correct. Thecollinscallout.com
FL's @GovRonDeSantis criticizes the @FloridaGOP's debate criteria, saying the party should not “engineer an outcome” in the governor’s primary: “There should be a debate... having an open process and having people be able to have their say is always better.”

Jay Collins is not asking Florida Republicans to discover him by accident. Ron DeSantis already saw what mattered. He endorsed Jay for the State Senate, then elevated him to Lieutenant Governor because the mission required someone tested, disciplined, and ready to help carry the fight forward. Now Jay is earning each vote one at a time and proving himself to Floridians every day rather than expecting a coronation. That matters now because the next governor will not inherit a slogan; he will inherit the unfinished work of the Florida Blueprint: property taxes, insurance, growth, water, power, education, immigration, and the constant pressure from institutions that want Florida managed instead of led. When DeSantis said the mission continues, that we will fight, we will win, and we will keep Florida strong - Jay Collins was the kind of leader he trusted to stand in that mission. A Green Beret who kept serving after losing a leg, a conservative who has governed inside the DeSantis administration, and a fighter who understands that Florida’s victories must be defended, not simply admired. If Republicans want the DeSantis style of leadership to continue, courage under pressure, results over rhetoric, and the will to fight the comfort class, Jay Collins is not just another candidate. He is the continuity choice. Learn more at Jayforflorida.com by @CroakyWasRight

Exactly, there are no participation trophies or coronations. @ByronDonalds should debate and take non-canned questions from FL voters.
ICYMI from the @TB_Times. Official campaign statement: “There are no participation trophies in politics. It is not Byron’s job to legitimize campaigns that have failed to gain meaningful support. Republicans are united behind Byron Donalds and focused on defeating Democrats in November.” -@ByronDonalds campaign communications director Gates McGavick tampabay.com/news/florida-po…

Let’s forget that it was a pro-Donalds group that commissioned the poll. He used a debate stage in the image!
Other campaigns just keep coming up short
Community note
The poll mentioned in this post is misleading. What isn’t mentioned is that the respondents to the poll were by a pro Donald’s group. Post misrepresentations actual polling numbers between candidates. x.com/iapolls2022/st…

Guys, Byron has apparently "done the work" for Florida, but our Lieutenant Governor, who has been serving and working for the state every single day, somehow hasn't? That's a pretty tough sell to anyone with common sense. I've seen a lot of influence operations, but this may be one of the most transparently bad attempts yet. Especially considering Byron is notorious for not showing up for votes in Congress. Apparently missing votes now counts as "doing the work." The people pushing this narrative think Florida voters are fools.
Politics is a team effort and @ByronDonalds has done the work and is leaving nothing on the table trying to win. I’m proud of the work of our thousands of volunteers and staff working to get him elected Governor.

Florida GOP is playing the same game Democrats played with Kamala Harris by anointing Byron Donalds. Mind you this is before any of us even have the chance to vote in a primary. They are pulling every trick to avoid a real debate. Apparently, they learned nothing from the backlash that comes with sidelining voters and treating the nomination process like a formality. The message is clear: they think voters will simply fall in line, accept the decision, and move on. They think you're stupid. They think you're fools. The hubris is remarkable, and the disrespect for the voters they're supposed to represent is even worse.

Looks like Renner’s total haul, both campaign and PC, was a paltry $106k for this reporting period. It’s over. Now he’s staying in to help Byron.

What donors? Renner's is the worst run campaign. His staff, surrogates, and volunteers turned everyone off. He's done.
Where are the donors? @Paul_Renner barely clears six-figures in two months of fundraising amid heavy burn rate, thinning cash pile Reporting by @AGGancarski #FlaPol flapol.com/4xlZaBu

There’s no imaginary threshold for debates. Then let Byron lose the primary because that’s the way it’s tending due to this bullshit that he’s too special to have to debate. Fuck that.

NYC will soon be worse than the 1980s. It's Mamdani's mission.
Jonathan Pettigrew was just murdered on a bus in NYC on his way to pick up his young daughter after asking a rider to lower the volume on the phone Police and media are only identifying the suspect as a “teen with a white shirt”
