My writing on Palestine, a 🧵 I’ve been writing on this since the fall – in fact, it’s been hard to focus on anything else. “What We Talk about When We Talk about Food Security” – on Gaza, poverty and neoliberal "moves to innocence". eatinganisland.com/p/what-we…

Have you noticed how none of the Israel-defenders have once said, hey maybe that's enough blood? They accepted the 70K figure a while ago (we know it's much more than that) and yet they still want more death. They fight and scream and march for it

Six Israelis have been wounded, three critically, after a Resistance drone struck the settlement of Beit Hillel in northern occupied Palestine. Israeli media reported explosions across the settlement shortly after air raid sirens were activated. Beit Hillel sits in the Upper Galilee, close to the Lebanese border, an area that has faced repeated Resistance drone and rocket fire since the war on Gaza began.

As Gaza has fallen off the headlines, support for fundraising efforts has fallen with it. But more than ever our intervention is an important part of disrupting genocide. Read this guide by @umberghauri on how to help by managing fundraising campaigns: drive.google.com/file/d/1QEp…

The scale of israeli attacks on civilian targets in Sur today are horrendous. Remember the city of Sur, as with the Palestinian camps of Gaza, has no value to any imperial project, this is simply a process of jewish violence bought by jewish political influence.

24 hours of lecturing every Palestinian on this platform well done @nxt888 🙏
I think where we actually agree is substantial, Susan. The occupation is brutal. U.S. complicity is documented and ongoing. AIPAC's political influence is real and worth examining critically. None of that requires "Jewish supremacy" as a framework. And the moment that language enters the conversation, every news cycle stops being about Gaza and starts being about antisemitism in the movement. That's not a coincidence. It's a mechanism. And it works every single time.

BREAKING: Israel is massively bombing the city of Tyre in South Lebanon right now. Entire neighborhoods are being wiped off the map. One of the oldest cities on Earth is being annihilated before our eyes. And the world watches in silence.

Woke up this morning thinking about one of the most violent mass shootings in Canadian history and how after it became clear the shooter was **until recently** working for the RCMP the entire story was memory holed and no one in the country ever mentions it.

This is the same newspaper that has been A-OK with the elimination of the indigenous population of Palestine all along, so it checks out.
Holy shit. @globeandmail editorial board: “The fact of the crimes committed against Indigenous children at residential schools over many decades does not automatically validate claims that hundreds of students were dumped into unmarked graves in Kamloops and other residential schools. That is an extraordinary assertion, one that requires proof. That should have been the starting point for the media in May, 2021, when the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation first issued a press release announcing the “confirmation of the remains of 215 children of the Kamloops Indian Residential School” through the use of ground-penetrating radar that identified subterranean anomalies. The media, including The Globe and Mail, did not initially scrutinize, much less challenge, that assertion. The initial headlines and stories in the media simply stated as fact that the remains of 215 children had been found. Many of those early stories, including in this newspaper, made reference to “mass graves” (a historically fraught phrase that does not appear in the Tk’emlúps 2021 press release). Perhaps it will be proven, some day, that there are hundreds of unmarked graves at Kamloops. But it was not proven to be true in May, 2021. It is not proven to be true today. …That evolution in language does not erase the initial failure of journalism. The lesson of 2021 should be: assertions about residential schools should be listened to carefully, and then, just as carefully, held up to scrutiny.”

White nationalists are apparently rallying on the Larry Uteck overpass. Can we expect every politician globally to tweet about it? Will any of the groups dedicated to “rising antisemitism” bother about this or is it only Palestine marches they actually care about?

If it surprises you that the Globe and Mail would support residential school denial, it shouldn't. This fucking cunt - the Third Baron Thomson of Fleet, Canada's richest shitstain - owns the Globe and Mail, and one third of the Canadian Press too. #CdnMediaColludes

Anti-Palestinian racism is so widespread that people aren't even aware that they're doing it. One key function of APR is to make Palestinians unreliable narrators of their own reality. The result: denial, condescension and lectures.
Here is the test. If "Jewish power" were removed from the equation tomorrow, if every Jewish person in American public life, finance, media, and government were replaced overnight with non-Jewish people of identical class position and institutional affiliation, would the American empire change its fundamental behaviour? Would it stop supporting authoritarian governments that serve American strategic interests? Would it stop using sanctions as a weapon against countries that refuse to cooperate? Would it close its overseas bases? Would it restructure the dollar's reserve currency status? Would it stop arming the governments it needs and destabilizing the ones it doesn't? The answer is no. Because the behavior is not produced by the ethnicity of the participants. It is produced by the institutional logic of the system, which recruits its participants and then shapes them, regardless of what they believed before they entered. That is what a system is. That is how it works. That is why it is so durable. And that is why the people who benefit from it never having to answer for itself are very comfortable with a movement that has decided the problem is the Jews. Because that movement has aimed at a shadow. And the machine runs on, undisturbed, in the daylight, with its name on the door.

For the EU, defending oneself and one's people against genocide deserves "consequences". On the other hand, perpetrators of genocide are rewarded with the EU-Israel Association Agreement, research and development funds and unhindered military trade.
We are sanctioning additional members of Hamas. The sanctioned individuals influence Hamas’ military wing. They bear responsibility for its violent actions. Hamas’ disarmament is essential to set Gaza on a path towards peace. Read More: link.europa.eu/n77rnB
