Learned a LOT of investing lessons that I otherwise would never have discovered if I had blindly sold out in cash at end of 2021 and sat out the market for the last 18 months. Just wish I learned faster in early 2022!

$DDOG Goldman on ER “We see Datadog poised to grow into a preeminent infrastructure software business. We point to comparison vs ServiceNow at $5bn in revenues and 30% FCF margins, valued at $110bn. We believe that Datadog is a strategic infrastructure software provider..

Time to be wrong again! $UPST is 0% position. Expect 494K loans, avg loan size flat at $8600, fee rev 285M, total rev 313M in Q4, Total Q1/FY rev guide at 320M/1.1B. and they’ll say “our guide does not include auto” (refuse to give auto guide). Best of luck to all shareholders!
1 min to mkt close. Expect >30% QoQ growth🤞 I can be dead wrong and I will accept it if so. UPST now >90% of portfolio, just like day of Q2 report. No regrets, as I believe I am following the data best available to me. My guess: 483830 loans, 325M total rev in Q3...

It's hard to predict future cloud revenue growth. Looking at sell side reports for Amazon in 2017 for AWS growth: 5 years ago they projected AWS to grow at a 20-25% CAGR through 2020. This would imply growth rates <20% in 2020 It grew 40% in 2021 🤯

Very solid quarters for Azure (Microsoft), ServiceNow and Qualtrics. Sign of what's to come for cloud software earnings? For so many cloud software businesses the fundamentals have never been stronger. Putting aside the macro, Fed QT, multiples, etc, software is looking good

The only thing that could be more bullish, is if Nadella repurchases all $285 million worth of $MSFT stock that he sold. He dumped half of all his MSFT shares at the very top (November) 😆 clearly we all should have market timed the same way.

In a white knuckle market with the whole Street watching Microsoft's earnings with a close eye, Nadella & Co. gave a robust cloud guidance "for the ages" that will calm Street nerves this morning and was a very bullish data point for MSFT and importantly the whole tech sector.

There are some moments in the financial markets that are pivotal and historical when put in context (e.g. Dimon's JPM conference calls and hand holding in the financial crisis 2008/2009 timeframe). Last night was one of them with MSFT’s cloud guide given this shaky, nervous mkt

Lots of emphasis on growth these days - While all multiples are down across the board, the companies that have grown the fastest have "survived" this multiple compression Also - buying low multiple software bc it looks "cheap" doesn't always make for good returns

Okta's Business at work 2021 report: Okta has a unique way of tracking the fastest-growing apps globally. This report has produced some big winners in the past like $ZM, $DDOG. Interestingly, this year we have $AMZN, $MNDY, and $SNOW.
