At the @AllianceON for Healthier Communities Annual Conference, conversations focused on advancing health equity and ensuring everyone has access to primary care. @ReenaFoundation is proud to be part of these important discussions, advocating for the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities and other communities that continue to face barriers to equitable healthcare access. As work continues to expand Ontario's primary care system, it is essential that individuals with developmental disabilities are recognized as a priority population and have access to coordinated, accessible, and person-centred care. Through our advocacy efforts and our work to establish the #Thornhill Community #Health Centre, Reena is helping advance a healthcare system where everyone belongs, everyone is seen, and everyone can access the care they need. Thank you to the Alliance for Healthier Communities for creating space for these important conversations and to all partners working to build a more inclusive and equitable future. Congratulations to Bryan Keshen, @keshreport Reena's CEO, on successfully completing the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Level 5 Diploma in Housing. @ReenaFoundation This achievement reflects Bryan’s ongoing commitment to advancing innovative, inclusive, and sustainable #housing solutions for people with developmental disabilities. At Reena, we know that housing is more than shelter: it is the foundation for dignity, independence, belonging, and community participation. As the developmental services sector continues to face growing housing challenges, strong leadership and cross-sector collaboration have never been more important. Bryan’s accomplishment reinforces Reena’s commitment to working alongside developmental service agencies, governments, housing providers, families, and community partners to create meaningful housing opportunities that meet the diverse needs of individuals we support. Congratulations, Bryan, on this well-deserved achievement and for continuing to champion sector leadership in accessible and inclusive housing.

Congratulations to Harold Seidel on receiving the Lay Leadership Award of Excellence at the PowerNet Conference Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies For 32 years, Harold has been a driving force behind Batay Reena's growth and impact. From hands-on volunteer work in the organization’s early days to over two decades of leadership on the Batay Reena Board—including serving twice as Chair—his contributions have been both visionary and deeply practical. Harold’s leadership has helped bring to life every major Batay Reena housing project, ensuring that individuals with developmental and neurodiverse needs have access to homes that reflect dignity, safety, and quality. Known for his hands-on approach, unwavering standards, and deep sense of responsibility, Harold consistently goes above and beyond—often behind the scenes—to make a lasting difference. Thank you, Harold, for your extraordinary service, leadership, and commitment to building not just housing, but true homes and stronger communities. @keshreport @ReenaFoundation reena50.org/harold-seidel-ba…

Some moments remind us of what’s possible when a community comes together with purpose. Today, we celebrate a major milestone for @ReenaFoundation —and for the future of inclusive primary care. With a $1.9M annual investment from the @GovOntario, generous seed funding from The Suka Fund, and Harry Lebovic’s $1M leadership donation from the Dr. Joseph Lebovic & Dr. Wolf Lebovic Charitable Foundation, alongside an additional $900K donation from an anonymous philanthropic partner, the Thornhill Community Health Centre - A Reena Initiative, is becoming a reality. We are deeply grateful to MPP @laurasthornhill Minister @SylviaJones MPP, Minister @MichaelParsa, and Minister @Sflecce, Dr. @janephilpott for their leadership and commitment to building a more accessible healthcare system. And to our philanthropic champions - your vision and generosity are the foundation of this moment. This isn’t just about opening a clinic. It’s about creating a space where individuals with developmental disabilities, families, and the broader community can access care with dignity, understanding, and a sense of belonging. reena.org/thornhill-chc/ Read more - reena.org/reena-announces-1-… @fordnation Deputy Minister of Health Deborah Richardson Reena's CEO @keshreport Bryan Keshen @zivhargil @GladstoneCFRE Concord Family Health Centre Dr. Michael Surkont

We're thrilled to announce @Reenafoundarion's first-ever collaboration with @YorkUniversity innovative Cross-Campus Capstone Classroom (C4) program! This fall, York students from diverse disciplines will tackle a challenge co-created with Reena: “How might we support and assess Reena’s sustainability efforts in terms of financial sustainability and social impact?” By working together, we’re empowering future leaders to develop creative, real-world solutions that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals — and help us build a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future for people with developmental disabilities. Representing Reena were Stan Zynoberg, and Gary Gladstone @GladstoneCFRE Stay tuned to follow the journey and insights from this incredible partnership! #YorkU #C4 #YearOfImpact #GReena #InclusionMatters #SustainabilityInAction

We, @ReenaFoundation want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us today, August 26, 2025, for the @ULIToronto Accelerating Accessibility Coalition event: Independent Living Beyond the Physical Space – Tour of Reena’s Lou Fruitman Residence in Thornhill. In 2016, Ontario @Ont_Ombudsman #Ombudsman Paul Dubé’s report Nowhere to Turn revealed heartbreaking realities: adults with #developmental #disabilities left in hospitals, shelters, and even jails—because proper housing and supports didn’t exist. At @ReenaFoundation, our mission is to change that. We are building inclusive, supportive housing communities that empower dignity, independence, and belonging. We offer real alternatives to institutionalization and also empower others to do the same through the Intentional Community Consortium. #IntentionalCommunityConsortium This week at the #AMO2025 Conference in #Ottawa, Reena's Stakeholder Relations Lead, @GladstoneCFRE met with Mr. Dube and municipal and provincial leaders to keep pushing solutions forward. Together, we can close the housing gap and ensure every person has a safe place to call home.

The evening ended on a beautiful note with the Reena All-Star Choir, lifting spirits through their rendition of “With a Little Help from My Friends” by the Beatles — the perfect song for a #community that truly supports one another. ❤️ Watch the video below and soak in the joy! #ReenaArts #ArtMentorship #AllStarChoir #WithALittleHelp #CommunityJoy youtube.com/shorts/2EbKYtmtC…
