It was a day to remember! Grateful to be one of the #AAMC #MedicalSchools championing nutrition in #MedicalEducation
Today, HHS and @usedgov welcomed eight of the nation’s leading accreditors, assessors, and medical organizations to announce a historic development to increase nutrition requirements at every level of U.S. medical education, competency-evaluation, training, and residency.
Additionally, 19 new medical schools signed the Trump administration’s Nutrition Education Pledge, vowing to incorporate 40 hours of nutritional education or its competency equivalent into graduation requirements starting this fall.

No one was more surprised than me to find out I have worked at UTMB for 10 years as of today. How did I discover this you ask? Well my badge was denied at every entry! Apparently when they issued it they were banking on me staying 10 years or less and had it set to deactivate 🤣

Today is @UTMBHealth Student Day at the Texas Capitol! Thanks to our local delegation, 80 students from all five UTMB Health schools were recognized in the House and Senate galleries. Throughout the day, these students engaged with Texas leaders to discuss health care legislation and wrapped up the evening with a celebration reception at Scholz Garten. I’m incredibly proud of the dedication our UTMB students show both in and out of the classroom to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
