Then, shortly after, the third-place mayoral candidate in Los Angeles suddenly survives Election Day and somehow ends up with more votes than the top two candidates combined with late mail-in-ballots just to keep a Republican out of the runoff.
Oh, and she didn't even win her own district.
Maybe—just maybe—people saw that sequence of events and started asking questions.
