"Even among the talented who choose a path of building, most take safe, incremental bets. Such pursuits not only fail to push the world forward, but pose a cost in opportunity. There are important challenges facing humanity that no one is working on, including critical, and even existential challenges. In other words, if you are an exceptionally capable person, failure to pursue a good quest is not neutral. It constitutes a loss for humanity." β€” Trae Stephens and Markie Wagner

They called it off β€œfor regulatory reasons” but no chance the mkt change didn’t play a role in Adobe not wanting to fight too hard on this. Crazy this is a year later.

Assume $adbe would bump up if they paid the breakup fee and dipped. Also assume they could come back later and buy cheaper. Probably better for shareholders to walk.

Couldn’t be closer to the playbook we used at SL from beginning. Basically Lou Adler hire with your head and MSA question abbreviated Top Grade.
Founders this will be the most valuable short form video on hiring you will see. The five questions to ask every potential new recruit with @m_franceschetti @eightsleep Amazing show coming tomorrow πŸ‘‡

The other team’s calls were only part of the story. How about a team that never gave up, that fought to the very end, that found a way to make the impossible happen #GoJackets #WeCanDoThat

Salesforce is just north of 7% of Microsoft market cap today. Acquisition at 35% over mkt would still be <10% for $msft.

Interest rates, inflation, and ebitda be damned. If you’re a believer in SaaS, this is horse worth riding.

What’s different about Elon over all other larger than life polarizing figures is he seems to show the maturity of a leader who recognizes mistakes and walks them back based on learning.

What’s the likelihood @Adobe backs out of @figma deal? This was kind of glossed over in @theallinpod except for @chamath saying Fig should be pushing hard to close.

My take on @elonmusk and censorship. Individually you are not trusted to fully decide the limits of free speech. Neither am I. Most importantly neither is he. Create true town square with full representation no bots, so we can collectively decide.

And it’s a worthwhile cause for today’s most relentless entrepreneur.

This is the purpose of Angel investing I’ve always loved. For many investors at this level, it should be about return on fulfillment not ROI.

I decided it was better to invest in entrepreneurs that I thought would be the most interesting (and fun) to watch from the bleachers as they tried to turn their crazy ideas into realities. And that, as they say, has made all the difference.
