đ¨BREAKING: ICE agents were caught on video telling a U.S. born citizen that his driverâs license was not proof of citizenship because âanyone can get that.â
In the video, the man repeatedly told them he was born in the U.SâŚ. In Atlantic City.
He showed them his license.
They dismissed it.
He showed them ANOTHER form of ID.
They STILL kept interrogating him about where he lived, who he lived with, whether Venezuelans lived in his home, who had been in his car, and whether the vehicle was registered to him.
All while illegally detaining him in his car.
And in the endâŚ
The agents admitted they werenât even looking for the person connected to the carâs registration.
So, why was this U.S. citizen stopped, surrounded, and interrogated in the first place?
The Fourth Amendment does not disappear because agents âsuspectâ someone might be undocumented.
You do not have to repeatedly prove your citizenship to federal agents because they decided you âlook foreign enoughâ to question.
Yet, this keeps happening to U.S. citizens across the country.
