@JackieDP said that the issues with
#mesh implants were related to clinical practice and not to the devices &
@sarahwollaston said it was “cavalier practice”
So why wasn’t there a PUBLIC INQUIRY in 2017 - why do ministers make comments without proper investigations?
We got an apology “a regretful acknowledgement of an offence or failure” - but these women need
#compensation
imo there’s an element that is correct with JDP’s comments because the
#MHRA had allowed a
#medicaldevice to be implanted into patients without safety measures of camera led insertion or post op MRI to check for wrong placement
Wrong placement of a plastic porous device meant that
#mesh glued itself into organs, blood vessels, arteries (I had massive internal heamatomas) nerves & genitalia
The
#government did no checks on safe implanting & was not prepared with a back up plan to remove the stuck mesh
The
#patients were
#gaslighted & laughed at by consultants in the most appalling non care, don’t care, go away attitude
The full extent of
#mesh failure must be investigated bc this is what we have suffered as a result your
#government @RCObsGyn incompetence
🩸🩸🩸Complications included chronic inflammatory reaction, erosion of mesh into surrounding organs, infection, chronic pain, pain with sex, incontinence, damage to surrounding tissues, haemorrhage, leg weakness, further surgery & psychological injury. 🩸🩸🩸
No consent to this barbaric treatment = PUBLIC INQUIRY
