It’s an amazing feeling to see our work being published today. Hoping this will contribute to our understanding of how microglia and the CNS develops. #science #research #microglia #development @kracht_laura @EggenBart @KooistraSusanne science.sciencemag.org/conte…

Very happy that our research on VISTA function in microglia and the CNS is published today. We found that VISTA regulates microglia homeostasis and myelin uptake. Check out the full article here (open access): rdcu.be/ckRJe --- @EggenBart @KooistraSusanne

Yes the #covid19 situation is serious, but do you remember these awkward moments when you cannot decide whether you should shake hands, fistbump or hug someone? These moments are gone, it‘s just „hi“ nowaways.

#phdchat #AcademicChatter Lockdown Tip 2: There must be something you always wanted to do. Maybe starting a blog or podcast? Perhaps recording a song or paint a 2x2meter painting? Bulding a table or discuss science on youtube? Now is the time. Get going today!

#phdchat #AcademicChatter Lockdown Tip 1: Learn something useful now that will safe you time later. I‘m learning LaTeX now (using @overleaf) which will make writing the dissertation later on much easier.

The #COVID19 lockdown provides opportunity to explore or learn something new. DM me, if you always wanted to try #scicomm and like writing about #neuroscience or life in #academia. The blog I've started ( @neurofy_) is open to share your ideas/articles! @AcademicChatter #phdchat

Just wondering. With all the #COVID2019 madness going on: conference cancellations, travel bans, etc ... Does that also mean my submissions get reviewed quicker? Or that my thesis is going to be written and feedbacked faster? Mh. #AcademicTwitter #phdchat #research

Currently using an ultracentrifuge which accelerates to 75000xg. Insane speed if you think about it. Is anyone else afraid that something shoots out into your face or that the machine blows up at these speeds, or is it just me? #research #lab #lablife

Many common brain myths busted in my new blog post. Check it out if you are interested to know how much of our brain we use, how alcohol affects our brains, and much more. #scicomm

Oh please Illustrator, just behave for 10minutes so I can fix my figures. You should have told me earlier that you cannot handle multiple plots with thousands of points. #bigdataissues #slowmotion

I‘ve been to scientific conferences before, but today I joined a technology conference for the first time. #newexperiences. Although it‘s difficult (and exhausting) to think outside your comfort zone, it‘s surprising how much you can take away from these new experiences. 👍🏼

This lil comedy number is making the rounds online . I kinda wanna paint my Shibboleth log in on the side of buildings and change my name to ‘Sci Hub’ - for the people, you know? @AcademicChatter #accessscience

It‘s tempting to work long hours because other people do so, or to show you‘re working hard. Took me a while to realize that efficient 30hrs are better than overworked 50 h weeks. People should promote a proper work-life balance instead of crazy hours. #AcademicChatter #phdchat

I‘ve used twitter passively in the past, not knowing that there were great communities like #AcademicChatter and #scicomm. Today, I reached 100 followers, thanks 😊🤙🏻! Never thought twitter could actually be so rewarding and such a good opportunity to talk about science.
