For each case, a federal court (including the Supreme Court) asks: (1) Who should decide? and (2) If it's the federal judicial branch, what should the decision be? We the People should pay more attention to the first question.

Communists can never quite grasp that if you make Musk poorer, you make millions of others poorer in the process because unlike them, he actually creates value for others in society. It's deranged.
Elon Musk just became the world’s first trillionaire. Let’s make sure he’s also the last.

Shouldn't we be trying to make more trillionaires? Wealth is not finite. Covetousness is not a fiscal policy.

Justice Sotomayor's concurrence in Keathley, an opinion on which I expect few will comment, reflects that she has actually litigated before trial courts, an unfortunately uncommon perspective on the Supreme Court. supremecourt.gov/opinions/25…

As with the disproportionate and unprecedented points deduction against Everton, this legal precedent will not be extended beyond Everton. People with power will suddenly realize where this leads, and they will stop it.

People used to say Donald Trump was a poor person’s idea of a rich person. Graham Platner is a rich person’s idea of a poor person.

I know it’s fashionable to hate baseball. I still love it. And this is beautiful. I remember the first time I hit a home run in a little league game, and it’s a great feeling I can still feel as an old…and as a short who could never dunk a basketball!
Dad and son are doing batting practice when his son launches one over the fence. Dad can't contain his excitement. Baseball is one of those sports where parents can be directly part of the work, throwing BP, playing catch, hitting grounders, etc

Another media induced moral panic that caused a tremendous amount of harm (no mention of all the Canadian churches burned?) for which there will be no consequences and, perhaps even worse, no lessons learned or improvements made.

I get that this is just a briefing order. But the order’s credulous tone is worthy of this and other comments. The motion is awful. To be clear alert: I think the “slush fund” is bad. I think other Biden/Obama settlements were bad. And Congress should do something.
This doesn’t seem to embrace any of the legal arguments advanced by the fake judges. She seems to have come up with her own based on the “Trump bad” factual allegations. Mandamus? Can any Tom, Dick, or Luttig just show up and get a Rule 11 review outside a case or controversy?

Having lived and/or worked in DC for over a decade, I can’t believe I’d never heard of this letter from the Duke of Wellington to a bunch of bureaucrats in London during the Napoleonic wars. If you haven’t either, please enjoy (link below if the font is too small):

Tremendous pick by Scalia. Home run!
Strong pick by Scalia Law School to hire Dan Kelly as their new dean. He is a longtime friend going back to law school days and is not only brilliant and principled but a great guy. St. Thomas’ loss is Scalia Law’s gain - I’m excited to see him in this new role! gmu.edu/news/2026-05/daniel-…

"In 1789, we elected George Washington as the first President of the United States." So begins Judge Rosenbaum's opinion about whether the federal pension law, ERISA, requires using a certain age for certain estimates about payments. She reverses for more proceedings.

Can New York impose Greenhouse Gas Disclosure mandates on midwest farmers? @AGIowa, @AGCHanaway, and @AmfreeChamber say, "No." In a first-of-its-kind Complaint, the States argue that radical New York environmental regulations belong in New York, not Iowa.
