Masks should be required in medical facilities and nursing homes. Send a letter to Biden and Congress and tell them: the pandemic is not over; use layered protections to protect each other. Mass infection should not be normalized. actionnetwork.org/letters/th…

No matter who is in the Oval Office, ignoring COVID doesn’t make the pandemic go away. Long-COVID is real. Immunocompromised people exist and deserve to be protected.

Science is not partisan, they kept telling us. Yet many who criticized Trump for horrible COVID policies, are now silent about Biden. We should speak out against harmful policies that go against science and equity, no matter which party is in office.

"We will follow the science" they said. They lied.
Joe Biden in Detroit, with 60 Minutes: "The pandemic is over. We still have a problem with COVID. We're still doing a lot of work on it. But the pandemic is over."

Hard to think of a less subtle example of what, for the last two years, we at @DeathPanel_ have been calling “the sociological production of the end of the pandemic” than this exchange and the whole tautological reasoning behind Biden’s statements here

One of the (many) reasons they’re not wearing masks is because people like Biden keep (falsely) telling them the pandemic is over.

Biden on @60Minutes says Detroit auto show last week a sign: “the pandemic is over” BIDEN: We still have a problem with covid, we’re still doing a lot of work on it… but the pandemic is over. If you notice, no one’s wearing masks, everyone seems to be in pretty good shape.

Thank you!!! I hope more politicians adopt this stance
“You do you” isn’t good public health policy in a continuing pandemic. Not cute either. Call it what it is. Encouraging rugged individualism that ignores public health concerns & leaves immunocompromised & other vulnerable folks at risk. We should look out for each other. #maskup

Starting today, masks will be optional in some places where they had previously been required, including on mass transit.

I’m sorry…but what the actual hell is this? This is not funny. Not to folks with chronic illness and not to us in the city riding trains. People’s health and safety is not funny. Is this an episode of Black Mirror? @MTA should be ashamed. Why would you promote this?
It’s so depressing that this person is going to be elected without any real competition

The @MTA's message has gone from "I take care of you, You take care of me" to "You do you!" This is a reckless abandonment of public health by @GovKathyHochul and New York that makes our state less safe and accessible to everyone.

I don't see any evidence for how an annual Covid shot will provide durable protection (current ones wane after 4-6 months) without better vaccines, such as variant-proof, improved nanoparticles, and nasal wsj.com/articles/u-s-plans-s…

Oh yeah, 400k cases per day. 3000 deaths per week. We’re in a terrific place right now.
Sen. Gillibrand on whether Congress will re-up funding for free COVID test kits: "I don't think so. I think the president decided we're in a good place right now. We've really gotten over the hump of COVID and I certainly have been able to buy home test kits in CVS anytime I go."
