*fairly* accurate poll on Reddit. Congrats @MedReddit, do we have an unofficial litmus test?

Votes are still coming in, but even overnight 448/521 doctors reject Wes' offer. reddit.com/r/doctorsUK/s/rfG… Can we put this silly idea to bed now and come up with a better one?
The BMA didn’t put our offer to their members and now we know why: they wouldn’t have backed their unnecessary and irresponsible strikes. They should give their members a say, call off these strikes and stop risking the NHS’s recovery. thetimes.com/article/c039c2b…

This is all well-known, written about by excellent people from @david_colquhoun to @DrJenGunter and @dr_andrealove - so why did the @guardian run such a piece without modicum of fact-checking? Certainly UK doctors on reddit pretty annoyed about it too.. reddit.com/r/doctorsUK/comme…

🔔UPDATE: More worrying evidence emerging of unsafe use of Physician Associates by @UHP_NHS. Doctors at the trust have been instructed to create a "prescribing rota" to determine who will prescribe and request scans for PAs. @CareQualityComm Source: @MedReddit

🚨NEW: Our investigation into the unsafe use of Physician Associates at @UHP_NHS 👇 The trust uses a PA to carry out paediatric ENT surgical procedures. When asked for their scope of practice & governance policies, the Trust refused, bizarrely citing "Health and Safety"

I'm sorry your grandmothers passed away, but can you still cover your shift. NHS managers are beyond parody at this point. (From r/DoctorsUK)

Very glad to hear @wesstreeting is sympathetic to our concerns about career progression However; sympathy won’t resolve placeholders or bottlenecks - it meaningless to those facing unemployment. What we need is action! reddit.com/r/doctorsUK/s/uwy…

I have written up my thoughts on "Physician Associate graduates have comparable knowledge to medical graduates" here on reddit (where I can do things like edit): reddit.com/r/doctorsUK/comme… *I strongly disagree with any comments criticising the authors personally*

Credit to u/DonutOfTruthForAll @MedReddit. Even the GMC themselves can’t separate PAs from “registered medical professionals” but apparently the general public can? Explain yourselves @gmcuk. @AnaesUnited.

Actual proportion of IMGs in training. Competition ratios do not reflect actual people who get a training spot after being competent.

This is where we were 3 and a bit years ago:
I see it must be Thursday because be junior doctor subreddit is convulsing and frothing at the mouth about PAs and ACPs again

James is great. When will @TheBMA start engaging doctors where they actually reside online instead of X with declining viewership & engagement?
