Not sure if this ever got tested, but since several countries now seem to be seriously pressed on PCR testing capacity ... it seems like evaluating bloom-filter style combinatorial scaling could do some good.

The Distributed Systems session in #nsdi21 was really fun and interesting. Here is a summary: 1) MilliSort and MilliQuery: Large-Scale Data-Intensive Computing in Milliseconds: Can we run a distributed bucket sort on 100s of servers in under a millisecond? (The answer is Yes!)

So how imminent is a negative leap second? This is the raw data since the 1960s. If this graph stays negative, take it seriously. At -1 millisecond deviation, it would take ~2 years.

What is Maglev? A Thread. tl;dr: Maglev provides HA for network load-balancers. If you are in the cloud, then you are likely already using it. This is how Google and others make load-balancing reliable and scalable with commodity Linux servers.
