#RSNA24 plenary session @EricTopol shares several studies where AI alone did better than physician plus AI!Why? maybe -bias against AI? Important to note these studies are contrived. Less than 5% of over 500 reports used data that was not real world medicine
Beware of misinformation. Dense breasts ARE normal, on mammograms in 50% of women < age 50 and 25% of women over age 60. Menopause somewhat reduces breast density. Women with prior cancer may receive hormone blockers that can slightly reduce density. Facts @DenseBreastInfo

MRI is the clear winner for early breast cancer detection in women with dense breasts or high risk or both, averaging another 13 cancers/1000 women screened in first year and 3-7/1000 in subsequent years. Many fewer false alarms once there is a "baseline." @DenseBreastInfo
