Assume the movie had flopped and the director lost his entire $750,000 investment. How many crew members would have voluntarily returned their fees to help offset his loss? This is the fundamental asymmetry in risk and reward. When someone puts up their own capital and shoulders the real financial risk especially in a high-failure industry like entertainment they alone bear the downside. Yet the moment the project succeeds, suddenly everyone who was paid upfront wants a bigger piece of the pie. The same people who would not have shared in the loss now feel entitled to share disproportionately in the upside. If you accept payment for your work regardless of outcome, you’ve already been compensated for your risk (or lack thereof). Why should the person who risked everything not be allowed to reap the rewards when their gamble pays off?

Obsession's director has responded after the art director said she earned less than $7,000, while the movie made nearly $300 million He said the crew "deserve to be recognized" but that those who take financial risks are rewarded the most

These arguments about Jewish right of return to Tunisia and Morocco crumble when one notices that Jews who emigrated to Israel can return to Tunisia and Morocco any time they wish. Some actually have!
Palestinians want a right of return to pre-1948 homes. Surely they want it to be fair and equitable, right? Well then, let's discuss the uncomfortable truth about equality that they never seem to want to discuss. The 850,000 Jews who were expelled or fled from Arab countries after 1948 should also be granted that identical right. That means full restitution of their homes, synagogues, businesses, and the $100 billion in seized assets across Iraq, Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Syria, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, and elsewhere. They should be free to return, reclaim their properties, receive guarantees of security, and have the option to rent them out if they prefer to stay in Israel. Sounds perfectly fair, doesn't it?

If 9 Israelis had been burnt alive yesterday, they’d have called it a barbaric & savage antisemitic massacre. When Israel burns alive 9 Palestinians to death, they call it a ceasefire.
An Israeli attack on four residential apartments in Gaza City killed nine Palestinians, including an entire family, and injured dozens. Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary reports from the scene, where residents say one child survived.

In the last 24 hours I have repeatedly started, then deleted, a post responding to the nasty anti-Muslim, racist attacks against @HamawyForNJ. I keep trying to find the words for the forceful, eloquent defense Dr. Hamawy deserves, but I can't. I'm too angry. So let me be crystal fucking clear to the scum at that dishrag of a "newspaper", @nypost, the shameless editors of the @nytimes, the vapid hucksters of @FoxNews, and gutless cowards like @RepMikeLawler and @RepMoskowitz: Adam Hamawy is a hero and a patriot with more courage and integrity than any of you could dream of. Unlike Jared Moskowitz or Mike Lawler, he actually served this country in uniform, deploying to wars *we* started so he could stitch up our wounded troops. There are people who are alive today ONLY because Adam Hamawy was their doctor when it counted. One of them is your colleague, Senator Tammy Duckworth. In Gaza, he pieced together children blown up by AMERICAN bombs you ghouls shipped over there. Bombs dropped by our supposed allies. They offered to evacuate him on account of his American passport. But he refused to leave his patients or his crew until the criminal apartheid state allowed a new rotation of doctors in. That's a level of courage and moral conviction that neither Lawler or Moskowitz nor any other lawmaker participating in this nasty campaign could hope to achieve. For you to question his patriotism or his Americanness in service to a foreign dictator is pathetic. You trot out our troops like stage props when you want a photo op, but you wouldn't know real service if it was handed to you on a platter at an AIPAC dinner. Your despicable smear against this war hero doctor spits in the face of everyone who has ever served. Including my father. But the jig is up on your crybully routine. There's no amount of Islamophobic hysteria you can spin up that will make millions of Americans forget the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians you gleefully pushed into death, disease, and displacement with OUR money and weapons. Whatever you're selling, only AIPAC is buying. Adam Hamawy is going to Congress, and you can go to hell.

The last time Jews had governed the land before 1948, they spoke Aramaic, not Hebrew. This proves how bogus the "continuity" theory is.
For thousands of years of Jewish history in the Levant, in the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, the people who lived and governed that land were Jews, who spoke the Hebrew language and who practiced the Jewish religion. There are three buckets of independent evidence that prove this. I like to call them: 1. Rocks in the ground —archeological evidence. 2. Words on the page—documentary evidence. 3. Blood in the veins—DNA evidence. In the law, one piece of evidence is good, two pieces of evidence is great, but when three fully independent pieces of evidence corroborate one another, when they didn't get together and get their stories straight, but they still confirm what one another is saying, that's dispositive proof.

If Hezbollah killed 41 Israelis today, the antisemitism industry would describe it as a barbaric and savage massacre. When Israel kills 41 Lebanese people, they call it a ceasefire.
🚨 At least 41 people were killed and 140 wounded in Israeli strikes across Lebanon on Saturday According to Lebanon’s Health Ministry, Israeli attacks have killed at least 3,412 people and wounded 10,269 others since Israel dramatically escalated its assault on March 2. 🎥 An Israeli strike on Abbassieh, near Tyre, killed at least four people on Sunday evening according to preliminary reports. The nationwide death toll for Sunday was not immediately available.

Statistics say otherwise. Infant deaths in Gaza are compatible with indiscriminate killing. Infant deaths on Oct. 7 are compatible with a conscious effort not to harm babies.
If Israel had the ability to save every baby in Gaza, it would. If Gazans had the ability to kill every baby in Israel, they would. That is the difference.

"The UN was able to verify 31 cases of rape and sexual violence primarily in detention settings, but also at checkpoints and during military operations against 14 men, seven women, nine boys, and one girl from the Gaza Strip and the WestBank. This is part of a pattern of sexual violence against Palestinians, including as a form of torture. Violations consisted of rape, including rape with objects, gang rape, attempted rape, physical violence to the genitals, instances of targeted shooting of the genitals, touching of breast and genitals, strip and cavity searches conducted without apparent security justification, forced nudity, and threats of rape. Rape and gang rape were perpetrated against nine of these victims, with four suffering repeated rape on multiple occasions. Explicit threats were made by Israeli armed and security forced warning detainees not to report abuse to media or human rights organizations."
