The @CookieJarGolf guys will be playing Golf from ~4:15A-midnight, raising money for Arran Cancer Support🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 These dudes rock, and their YouTube content is among the best out there - If you've enjoyed golf in Scotland, consider donating.
In two weeks’ time, we’ll be in full recovery mode, having hopefully just completed this year’s Longest Day Challenge. Last year we attempted 99 holes at Durness, so this year we are going one step further: playing every hole on the Isle of Arran in a single day - starting at Whiting Bay and finishing at Shiskine. We’ll be joined by locals Greg and Ian, who will be keeping us on track as we raise money for an extremely worthy cause, and one especially close to the island: Arran Cancer Support. To support the day, the donation link is below: bit.ly/4wTkCxx

I love having a golf simulator at home but the range is still a much better place to practice. Open air and slinging to targets matters.

Hearing all these Euro golfers like Straka and Jager (Åberg a few weeks ago) and others with Southern accents is just funny to me for some reason.

No one has ever said “I wish I played less golf when I was a kid”.

If you like a game that favors hitting fairways, accuracy, and limiting power as the dominate skill then the LPGA is a fine product. No need to pine for a style of golf that is already being played.
No different to what I thought before and it’s not just distance. I would start with. 1) Limit length of driver to 44 (maybe 45) inch. 2) Reduce the size of the driver head to no more than 300cc. Maybe less (Original metal drivers were less than 200cc) 3) Reduce the C.O.R to around .8 (it is currently.83). 4) most loft on a wedge 60 degrees. 5) putter shortest club in the bag . The ball would have to be tweaked to accommodate some of the above. I realize that is too radical for most and all I’m doing is answering your question. But the goal would be to restore the reward system of golf. For example a long straight drive should be rewarded more than it does today. Par 5’s for example are really two shotters today. The longer crooked drive shouldn’t be rewarded more than a shorter straight one. With the above I’m not penalizing skill I’m rewarding it. Long straight is better rewarded. Straight over crooked is rewarded. Same with the short game. Manufacturers would market by brand and look as they did before. People still need clubs and balls.
