If the wider public knew what is happening they would be shocked. In many schools today, 1% of students are destroying the education of the rest and taking up the most of the time/energy of the staff. Unsustainable.

It is 100% about clear and consistent boundaries for all, students and teachers. My first head told me, very wisely, expectations start with uniform. Let that slide and you soon slide into problems. Natures way is to push at boundaries, give in at the first hurdle and race lost

One of the worst things you can do as a teacher is ‘let students off’ when they don’t meet your school values.
It erodes school culture and creates challenges for everyone.
Challenge their behaviour but provide the necessary support if it’s needed.
