Cool.
Norway fans are doing a “Viking Row” up the escalator at Boston’s South Station before heading to the World Cup Adding this to the list of things I’ve never seen before and probably never will again

Forget state media, forget liberal media. Listen to Steve talking about the real Russian media!
George Orwell, marriage, pickling and jokes about the economy: what you’ll find in some of the lesser-known Russian newspapers. #ReadingRussia

Maybe @bellingcat can back this up?
While Russians have already launched a campaign to convince audiences that it was an "expired Patriot missile" that struck Kyiv's Pechersk Lavra, Ukraine's SBU has identified the Russian kamikaze drone wreckage responsible for targeting the historic cathedral. According to the investigation, the Russians launched the kamikaze drone model "Geran-2", a Russian version of the Iranian Shahed. The conclusion was made based on the analysis of debris found at the impact site in the Stefanovsky chapel of the Assumption Cathedral. As experts established, some elements of the drone were manufactured in Russia, in particular in the special economic zone "Alabuga", which is confirmed by the markings on the fragments. The attack on the Lavra took place around 1:50am on June 15 during a massive shelling of the capital. As a result of the strike, the roof, domes, walls, and windows of the cathedral were damaged. There were no victims or injured.

Sehr lesenswert: "Quatsch vom Chef"
Antwort: ... (1/3)

Russia bombed the Dovzhenko Film Studio in Kyiv overnight, destroying Ukraine's largest costume archive, roughly 100,000 costumes and 3 million clothing items, built up over decades of Ukrainian filmmaking history. Gone. This wasn't incidental. It's part of a pattern of strikes on Ukrainian cultural sites, alongside this week's hit on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, that target memory and identity, not just infrastructure. I hope the international film community responds loudly. And I'd add this: after four years of full-scale war, some Western festivals are quietly making room again for Russian films and "Russian perspectives." Whatever the intent, gestures toward neutrality in this context don't read as balance, they read as normalization.

Any evidence?
Russian ministry of defence, to surprise of none, claims that Kyiv Pechersk Lavra was hit by a Patriot missile.

Marina Neyolova.
Without sycophants and yes-men, Putin would never have become a dictator. The outstanding actress Neelova who played the lead role in a famous anti-Stalinist play, accepted the title of Hero of Labor from Putin's hands, and this is shocking. newtimes.ru/articles/detail/…

We condemn another brutal Russian attack on Ukrainian cities that damaged a UNESCO World Heritage site in Kyiv. Russia shows no serious willingness to negotiate. We will continue to support 🇺🇦 and increase our pressure on Russia, to achieve a just and durable peace for #Ukraine.
Russia's overnight attack on Kyiv struck one of the greatest holy sites of Christianity and a UNESCO World Heritage site – the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. A fire covering approximately 800 square meters broke out on the roof of the Dormition Cathedral after the attack. Emergency crews continue to work at the site. The damage occurred during a massive Russian assault on Kyiv that killed at least four people and injured dozens more. The strike also caused a fire at a building of the Mystetskyi Arsenal National Cultural, Arts and Museum Complex, where flames spread across about 1,000 square meters. Targeting the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra is an unforgivable attack on Ukraine's cultural and spiritual heritage and on a site of outstanding value to humanity. We expect a strong response from the international community. 💬 "We will be urgently initiating all relevant procedures within UNESCO and all other international mechanisms, demanding immediate and adequate responses to this state barbarism. We expect strong reactions by international institutions and capitals. No vague words, silence, or weak steps. We need action now to stop Russian barbarism," Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs @andrii_sybiha has stressed.

What Tommy Robinson really sees in Russia Is Russia an impoverished hellhole? Or an anti-woke utopia? Of course, it's neither, but that doesn't stop people from overlaying their wishes on the place. My latest for @SpecCoffeeHouse spectator.com/article/what-t…

It took the Trumps to lose Albania, one of the most pro-American countries. They’re also protesting against the corruption in their own country that created the conditions for the private island project, but it’s a striking reversal to hear negative comments about the US at all.

I am no fan of Russian state media, but the question whether and how Putin will congratulate Trump today is really interesting.
