I looked up at the sky last night in a remote location with no light pollution and was amazed by the number of stars I could see. So I pulled out my phone and snapped a photo, not expecting much. iPhone Air, 3 second handheld exposure. Pretty incredible how much it got. Modern smartphones are so good

whoever added this feature on iOS 27 needs a fucking raise, my god it parses the entire thread & creates an event on tap that is pinpoint accuracy. ai magic lives in everyday minutiae & most users won’t even know it’s actually ai.

One of the coolest in person demos at #wwdc26 was @lmstudio running massive local models on 4 daisy chained Mac Studios with a total of 2tb memory Then they pulled out an iPhone and chatted with those models remotely over a secure connection I need to find a use for this

Here's what the floating Siri Orb looks like in VisionOS 27. It even casts its own environmental lighting!

People replace their phones every ~4 yrs. This means there are hundreds of millions of old phones discarded each year that are still perfectly usable as computing devices. @Google in collabration with @UCSD is exploring how to turn these old phones into cloud-computing “phone clusters”. Putting phones back in service in this way can directly reduce the environmental footprint of computing by avoiding the need for further raw material extraction, and taking advantage of the embodied carbon already incurred from manufacturing these devices, and modern phones actually are already quite powerful computers. Read more in the blog below ⬇️
Today on the blog, we discuss a pathway for the second life of phones through the exploration of “phone cluster computing”, which can directly reduce the environmental footprint of computing by avoiding the need for further raw material extraction. More →goo.gle/4aJe5vO

Every single World Cup game is free to watch in the UK. Dont take that for granted. Have to pay a €20 add-on fee here in Spain to have access to every game. Obviously paid it, wasnt about to miss Jordan vs Austria was I.

Battery life on macOS 27 is FANTASTIC! Both iOS and macOS 27 have really good battery life, even though they’re still developer betas. Apple finally focused on fixing bugs and making their software better this year. 🔥

I’m missing a contact in a group chat and Siri read the chat history to figure out who it was then added their name to the number

I loved the idea behind the Google Fitbit Air: an LLM wrapped around your health data, daily briefs, and a coach you can ask questions. But there app is really terrible, it's expensive $100 band plus $10/mo, and Google getting a constant stream of your heart rate, sleep, and other private data. Whoop is worse, with a subscription that runs up to $360 a year. So I bought a $7 generic Chinese smart ring from Temu, reverse engineered its BLE protocol, and built an app around it. Introducing PulseLoop: no subscription, open-source iOS app. Your health data stays on your phone, paired with an AI coach that reads your real ring data, draws charts, and remembers context. Free, bring your own API keys. Demo and code below.

Reminder: If you’re running iOS 27 beta (or any other Apple beta software), use the Feedback app to report bugs and unexpected behaviour instead of only complaining about them online.

Have been using new SiriAI for half a day now and will still probably use Gemini for search over Apple broad world knowledge but the best use case right now is still much better contextual and semantic search. Best semantic search on a device I’ve ever used. And it will improve by fall.

I've been using the new Siri on Mac by way of the Terminal Command workaround (still not off the waitlist). My take so far: Apple nailed it. It's awesome for a beta 1. (Hopefully this gets me off the waitlist but it is true).

I have a theory: MFI AI accessories with a required MFI certification or chip for access to Siri on the accessories and iPhone becomes hub for consumer AI
