In reality, The federal government is targeting some of the most violent criminals in our state and across the country. Drug traffickers. Gang members. Murderers. Sex offenders. Repeat offenders.
They are manufacturing fear to protect a failed political narrative.

Meanwhile, we're still ranked 50th in Education and 50th in Family & Community outcomes.
If we're spending more and getting the same results, it's time to try a different approach.

Talking more money from hard working New Mexicans isn’t working.
Instead of reducing homelessness, folks who are working are see rising costs and homelessness has grown. New Mexico Progressives are giving away the YOUR American Dream.
New Mexico has spent over HALF A BILLION of taxpayer dollars on homelessness in just three years.
The crisis has only become worse.
Last year, Rep. Nicole Chavez sent a letter to Mayor Tim Keller demanding answers about Albuquerque’s homelessness programs, where the money was going, and whether any of it was actually working. There was no response.
The Democrat strategy of throwing taxpayer money at the problem until it fixes itself has completely failed. New Mexicans are tired of watching more money get spent while our problems only keeps growing.

It doesn’t have to be this way
New Mexico already has the highest percentage of its population on food stamps in the nation. We also have one of the highest SNAP payment error rates in the country.
Now the federal government says it identified 186,000 dead people nationwide still receiving SNAP benefits, along with hundreds of thousands of duplicate payments.
Taxpayers deserve accountability.
If New Mexico leads the nation in SNAP dependency and payment errors, lawmakers should be asking hard questions about waste, fraud, and abuse in our own system.
This is exactly why the Legislature needs a permanent Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Committee to investigate state programs and protect taxpayer dollars.

New Mexico must do better!
32,000 young New Mexicans are not in school, not working and not in training, costing taxpayers $623 million a year to sustain. The growing number of disconnected is only getting worse. They’ve been told work hard, get an education, build a life, yet they do not see a path to personal success and growth.
The average first time homebuyer is nearing 40. New Mexico ranks near the bottom in education and child well being, while carrying one of the highest tax burdens and one of the worst returns on taxpayer dollars.
Bad public policy is shaping a culture of hopelessness at an enormous cost to taxpayers. When the system stops rewarding effort, people stop buying in.
Young people see it. They are doing the math.
One party control has not only limited balance and ideas, it has created a system that’s failing our young people.
What needs to change to make New Mexico a place worth building a future?

The Environment Department has seen a 226% general fund budget increase since FY19. That does not include federal funding. Yet it cannot maintain a basic public safety function like food inspections.
That points to misallocation, not scarcity.
