Me too! Great discussions, and a great group of people. Haven't found anything/anyplace quite like it since. I liked how intimate that forum was, while still feeling very vibrant/dynamic/inspiring.

Yeah I think of it similarly, and told Jason such for our big Wired feature where he wrote about it! In my mind, indie games adopted the mindset and it was no longer necessary as a counterculture. I miss the design discussion tho!

Perhaps, in a way. But the discussions on those forums had a big impact on how I think about and make videogames to this day. So it's also like gazing into the future that did happen. :)
