We are heartbroken by the tragic and senseless murder of 22-year-old Vidhi Megha, a bright young student from Gujarat, who came to Canada with dreams and hope.
Our deepest condolences to her parents, family, and loved ones in India and here in Canada. No parent should ever have to receive such devastating news about their child studying abroad. May Vidhi’s soul rest in eternal peace and may Bhagwan give her family the strength to bear this unimaginable loss.

HCF strongly condemns the anonymous bomb threat targeting 9 schools in Oakville and Burlington this morning.
Our children’s safety is non-negotiable. These hoaxes terrorize families, disrupt education, and waste critical police resources , all while the same perpetrator appears linked to similar threats in Toronto.
@HaltonPolice , @HaltonDSB , and @HCDSB:
1. Conduct immediate, transparent searches and keep parents fully informed.
2. Treat this as a serious criminal act, identify, arrest, and prosecute the individual responsible to the fullest extent of the law.
3. Implement enhanced security protocols and rapid-response plans across all Halton schools to prevent recurrence.
@ONgov : Invest in school safety infrastructure and cyber-threat investigation units.
HCF stands shoulder-to-shoulder with every Halton family. Our kids deserve to learn without fear.

The Halton District School Board and the Halton Catholic District School Board have received an anonymous bomb threat to the following schools:
Oakville Trafalgar HS
Iroquois Ridge HS
Abby Park HS
White Oaks HS
Garth Webb SS
Appleby College
Holy Trinity HS
Loyola HS
St. Thomas Aquinas HS
To ensure public and student safety there will be an increased police presence at each location while officers conduct searches of school property as part of their investigation. The Halton Regional Police Service have not placed the schools in a hold and secure at this time.

We (HCF) is deeply concerned by today’s hoax bomb threats targeting multiple Toronto schools.
While Toronto Police have confirmed that no credible threat was found evacuating two schools out of caution and safely clearing all affected sites by mid‑afternoon these incidents still create real fear, anxiety, and disruption for students, staff, and families.
We urge authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and identify those responsible. Acts that terrorize children and school communities, even as hoaxes, must be taken seriously and addressed with urgency.
We commend @TorontoPolice for their swift response and ongoing investigation (#GO922380). The safety of our children must always come first. HCF stands in solidarity with every affected family, teacher, and school community in Toronto.

The Hindu Canadian Foundation (HCF) is deeply concerned, though not surprised, by the latest CSIS Public Report 2025, which highlights the persistent and growing threat posed by Canada‑Based Khalistani Extremists (CBKEs). HCF Demands Based on CSIS Report 2025:
1. List CBKEs as a Terrorist Entity Under Canadian Law:
Given the historical and ongoing threat, HCF calls for the immediate designation of CBKEs as a Terrorist Entity to prevent recruitment, propaganda, fundraising, and institutional infiltration.
2. Adopt an Action‑Oriented Approach to Dismantle CBKE Networks: HCF urges the Government of Canada to implement a comprehensive plan to debunk, expose, and dismantle CBKEs extremist networks.
3. Protect Communities Targeted by CBKEs Extremist Intimidation: Authorities must strengthen protections for communities, journalists, students, and civic leaders who face pressure or threats from extremist elements.
4. Increase Transparency and Public Awareness: Canada must ensure regular public reporting on extremist threats and educate communities so they do not unknowingly contribute to extremist‑linked fundraising.
