Social media was SEO 2.0 - like twenty years ago. AI search optimization is just another layer of SEO. SEO 2.0 (nowadays called social SEO) can help with both, by way of Reddit. When you have a severe case of acronymia and stammering things like AEO, GEO, AIO seek o doctor.

I'm confused due to all the hype about "the biggest upgrade to our Search box in 25 years". Did they even roll it out already? Globally? All I see is a bunch of false positives. I use mainly Google alternatives so I'm not even sure it's the new interface LOL.

So when I search for [seo] or even [SEO] Google shows lots of Korean restaurants and celebrities. I'm not into k-pop though. Why can't they even disambiguate properly when I use the UPPERCASE acronym? When I use Google these days I default to the "Web" tab anyway.

Roll call! Who's still active here on X? I need an update for my "X-Twitter Engagers to Follow" post. And most of the accounts I suggested are dead by now. :-( Yet I don't want to delete it! I still believe there is some good in this community.

What gets a page cited by LLMs? @CyrusShepard compiled a great list of impactful tactics (based on 55 experiments, patents, and case studies) and @seosmarty took it a step further by determining if they are #SEO or #GEO. Much appreciation for the great minds in our industry!

Suffering from increasing “crawled – currently not indexed” stats on #Google Search Console? Even I do! Technical SEO might not be the right cure by 2026: seo2.onreact.com/crawled-cur… This guide shows how I assess and deal with this message and actual example pages. Sincerely, Tad

Human written #content beats #AI slop despite #SEO industry believing and selling the opposite! Don't believe the hype!
After analyzing 42,000 blog posts with an AI detector, content classified as fully human-written outperformed AI-generated or mixed content across the top 10 positions. The gap is most striking at position 1: 80.5% probability of being human-written vs just 10% AI-generated. This may appear to conflict with survey data showing that 72% of SEOs believe AI content ranks as well as human-written content. However, the data points to a more nuanced reality. The key difference emerges at the very top of the rankings. From position 5 onward, the performance gap between human-written and AI-generated content narrows significantly. In other words, AI content performs competitively when the benchmark is ranking on page one. However, in the highest-ranking positions, human-written content clearly leads. #AI chatbots are suggesting links to your site that do not exist and end up on an #error page. The user assumes that your site is broken. This highlights the importance of optimizing your #404 page more than ever. Don't be funny or cryptic, be helpful!

AI answers are about top of the funnel queries. Once people want to buy, they still have to visit a "website". Good news for businesses IMHO. Less publishing required, more focus on actual business.

Not sure how these could be useful search results: 1. THREE quick answers (which are pretty repetitive) 2. Repetitive links in answers and organic search 3. Lots of extra info (may be useful but should be much lower on the page (when people scroll down enough to go through what they initially searched) What am I missing? I feel like Google is just slapping all they can on the page
