It's actually more complex that that . But majorly this is fueled by insurance and ntsa they are the weak points . People now buy documents uko Kwa salvage yards . . Insurance would salvage/write off a car and sell it to part dismantlers You could in theory walk into those places and buy plates steal any car out any plates and no one would care . Insurance is the weakest link coz they'd insure anything ata ka si yako So I'd walk into a mall with KCK plates identify a car I want to steal bandika the plates and go along with my life .ndio maana the Toyotas demios and the likes znaibiwa The other easier bit is just to chop for parts steal and chop it for lights engine et all. There's a huge second hand market of this parts and people who don't want to pay full price . Two years ago car theft was minimal .police had kept dismantlers and thieves checks sai its a thief town
Don't know what happens after someone steals a WHOLE car, do they just get a number plate and it immediately changes ownership? Or spare parts? I'd love to know what happens in that side of the world

Your stars aligned. You took out a bank loan and bought yourself a nice car. The car was imported, and you had already started paying insurance premiums. Then you cleared the taxes — about KSh 400,000 more than you had budgeted for. A lot of money, but you rearranged things and paid it anyway. Finally, you were handed the keys to your new car. Except you can't actually drive it because @ntsa_kenya doesn't have number plates. At least not KDY plates. So, a month after the vehicle arrived in Nairobi, you still can't use it — despite paying insurance premiums, on top of the Ubers and matatus you were trying to avoid by buying a car in the first place. Government inefficiency is now costing you over KSh 100,000 per month. Go figure.

Maraga arriving at the matriarch’s grief sit-down with flowers and a clear desire to command attention is deeply distasteful. Coming from someone whose campaign sidelined women after mishandling sexual harassment allegations, the optics are particularly troubling. Some moments call for humility, not political theatre.

The controversy surrounding the Kenyan Premier League/National Super League promotion-relegation playoff is far from over and could be headed for the courts. On July 3, 2025, at 9:54 p.m., FKF's Leagues and Competitions Department formally communicated to clubs that the 2019 regulations would apply for the 2025-26 season. Those rules expressly provide for a playoff between the team finishing 16th in the Premier League and the side placed third in the National Super League. However, FKF subsequently appeared to abandon that position and began applying provisions from the 2025 regulations instead, creating confusion over which set of rules should govern promotion and relegation. The apparent contradiction has left the fate of the playoff hanging in the balance, with Kariobangi Sharks expected to challenge any move to scrap the fixture. Should FKF decide against staging the playoff, the matter is likely to end up before the courts or relevant football tribunals. More clear.

BTW, Wajir International Airport is one of the oldest facilities in Kenya. It was built in 1977. Wagalla Massacre was committed right here. President Ruto recently elevated Wajir Airbase to a full fledged Forward Oparating Base. KDF in Somalia uses it and Modika Barracks for operational commands.

Aviation doesn't work like the automotive industry where you have to wait for Isuzu to produce your unit, if they have the money for the 50 they'll get the 50. The limiting factor isn't even the planes, it's the space. Where the hell will they park 50 additional aircraft in JKIA?
Replying to @Kenyans
“So we are looking at over 50 aircraft by 2035. But for this we require an investor”🙄😅 Airbus holds backlogs 9,000 planes compared to Boeing's 6,700. This backlog for both represents 10 to 12 years of production. How the hell KQ is going to get new planes in 4 years? Liar!

Tax experts - correct me if I am wrong, but this is what I understand KRA’s proposal in the finance bill 2026 to be. Assume I made revenue of 100,000 All my costs are 80,000. My net profit is this 20,000. KRA at present expects 30% of this as corporate tax. Leaving me with 14,000. I can pull that out as dividends, at which point KRA will tax me. Or, I can plough it back into the business. KRA’s proposal is to TAX at MINIMUM 60% of this, the ceiling being at the discretion of the commissioner general. This makes absolutely NO SENSE to me. Not only are you punishing reinvestment, you are hitting hard new businesses that are the most likely to reinvest their profits, not to mention businesses that are growing organically. In what universe is this a rational policy move?

Hii hamjui: 70-80% of blood in Kenyan hospitals is NOT voluntary donation. "hatutaoperate mpaka mtu adonate." The "voluntary blood drive" model ni stori tu. The system runs on family panic.

Bait them with structured data, then charge them a dollar to access 😉 They don’t lose money since they’re no longer paying web scrapers, so let them pay you the site owner instead The machine economy!

Aaaand it works! No more reason to block agents/bots on your website, give them a front door to access structured data I didn't get an openai sub but I made it work. Launching the open source protocol soon - built in Rust! Bullish on the machine web 💪
I think I know how to build web 4.0 where websites are truly agent-native but I don’t have the time and a codex subscription We will no longer need to scrape the internet and computer use will be 100x faster @sama and team could you gift me a 6 months sub? I’ll make it open source!

At the exact time of asking this, if you are thinking of going to the cockpit and nothing else matters, 2.5m/h. However if you are thinking of where you and the plane will be on the flight path when you get to the cockpit, then 500 2.5mph. A reference frame is needed.
If you’re inside of a plane and you’re walking towards the cockpit, are you walking at 500 mph or are you walking at 2.5 mph?
