Every MP who has signed the foolish EDM calling on the government to disapprove the Code of Practice is pledging allegiance to the principle of self-ID.
Even though that ship sailed several years ago, they want another run at it. Against the wishes of the UK electorate.
All this fuss about the CoP is just a clumsy smokescreen.
The signatories know it, and so does everyone else.

You can vehemently disagree with Palestine Action activists goals, whilst simultaneously be horrified a judge can decide AFTER a conviction if it was terrorism related amd double a sentence.
Being able to class an offense as terrorism AFTER conviction without charging them with terrorism should bother everyone.
Any protest action that is now determined as trying to "change government policy" can have this applied.
So today it's Palestine Action, but next it'll be immigration protests, farmers protests, NHS, tax etc etc.

A 16 year old in the UK is considered capable of full consent to medical treatment and can legally leave home. Although the children act extends to under 18 year olds, court proceedings would normally be needed to overturn a 16 or 17 year old's decision.
