Finally, after several years of searching, we have found a provable (and implementable) analog of Nesterov's accelerated gradient method for Riemannian manifolds.

Check out the simplest derivation of Nesterov's accelerated gradient method in my student Kwangjun's work: arxiv.org/abs/2005.08304 -- it provides an intuitive way to obtain Nesterov's AGD (so it's not just about analyzing the AGD iteration, but discovering it in the first place!)

Meta-reviewer boldly claims that our entire theorem is wrong by providing a "counterxample" wherein they claim S=[1 0; 0 -2] to be a positive definite matrix, while denouncing our claims to be false!! 🤯Are you sure you want to be meta-reviewing? Please be more considerate.

Anyone else having trouble with @Delta website? It keeps throwing an error saying "last name cannot be left blank" when trying to pay, even though all the info is there! What a waste of time-wonder who unleashes untested websites like this!
