Read that again: “The average terror suspect arrested in England and Wales is now a white woman in her 50s.” That’s because of the proscription of Palestine Action. It is absurd. It is self evidently absurd. And history will damn every last person implicated
The average terror suspect arrested in England and Wales is now a white woman in her 50s as a result of the Palestine Action ban 2,800 arrests were made for supporting the group in 6 months -surpassing number of terror suspects detained in previous decade inews.co.uk/news/politics/uk…

It takes a special kind of strategic incompetence to achieve total military dominance and still pathetically lose a war, yet that is exactly what Donald Trump did in Iran. The US and Israel ruled the skies, hitting almost every target with virtually zero resistance and few aircraft losses. Even so, the entire operation failed because Trump is a loudmouth fraud who was never actually ready to commit. Before the war started, I wrote that Iran's best move would be to just to try to somehow survive the first wave, and call Trump's bluff, and that is exactly what they did. They realized early on that Trump's tough-guy routine was entirely hollow. Airstrikes alone rarely force an aggressive regime to collapse. Trump ignored every historian and military advisor, charging ahead with Israel without a clear objective. This was not a typical asymmetric victory like Ukraine's resistance against Russia, where the smaller nation wins by inflicting severe costs on the occupier. Iran's military performance was miserable. Their air defenses were a joke, and their retaliatory strikes achieved almost nothing. They won the war of wits because survival was existential for them, while for Trump, it was a political stunt. They correctly gambled that the US had no stomach for a prolonged ground invasion. They just had to absorb the hits and choke off global oil supplies in the Strait of Hormuz. Both sides held back some of their biggest moves, since Washington kept ground troops out of the fight and Tehran chose not to make the Houthis completely seal off Bab el Mandeb. I have absolutely zero sympathy for the horrific Iranian regime. Trump deeply betrayed the people of Iran by waiting until their domestic uprisings were brutally crushed before launching his badly prepared operation. He talked big and made sweeping demands, yet everyone knew he lacked the resolve to follow through. The upcoming peace deal will inevitably be far worse than the JCPOA he originally tore down. This war exposed the hard limits of Trump's posturing. When an adversary stood their ground and called his bluff, the entire might of the US armed forces could not cover up his cowardice and stupidity

Following the confirmation of the designation of Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation, the question that any of us of any background can ask ourselves, is do we now feel more safe or less safe?

Putin continues to murder his critics in European nations and face zero consequences.
⚡️ Russian artist Semyon Skrepetsky was killed in Poland: he had previously harshly mocked Putin and Kadyrov The murder took place in the city of Biała Podlaska, near the border with Belarus, where a refugee camp is located. After moving from Russia, Skrepetsky passed through this center and remained living in the city with his family. Several people may have been involved in the attack. The taxi driver who drove them was detained near the Belarusian consulate in the city. Earlier, Skrepetsky took part in an action at the Russian embassy in Berlin. The artist came wearing bast shoes, with a Russian flag tied to his trousers, and carrying a painting depicting Stalin “feeding” Putin. He also created satirical paintings in which he mocked Kadyrov, Putin, and Russian officials.

💪 Ukrainian air defense achieved the impossible last night and this morning. No air defense system in the world can do what Ukraine’s defenders did. And considering the severe shortage of Patriot interceptor missiles, it can only be described as a miracle. Just imagine: the Armed Forces of Ukraine reportedly shot down 5 out of 6 hypersonic Zircon missiles overnight. No military in the world has ever had significant experience intercepting hypersonic missiles, especially during such a massive missile assault and in such numbers. Despite a critical shortage of Patriot missiles, Ukrainian forces also intercepted 15 out of 34 Iskander ballistic missiles. The professionalism of Ukraine’s air defenders is simply extraordinary. At one point, General Christopher Cavoli stated that Americans were learning Patriot combat tactics from Ukrainians. That statement reportedly shocked many observers and lawmakers. Ukrainian crews mastered Patriot systems in just a few months, while specialists elsewhere often spend much longer training. But do you know what impressed me the most? Ukrainian air defense units, military personnel, and pilots reportedly shot down all 30 out of 30 Kh-101 cruise missiles. That is almost impossible to comprehend. If those missiles had been launched individually, it would already have been difficult. But to intercept every single cruise missile during a massive, multi-vector attack is something no military in the world has demonstrated under such conditions. Not the Iron Dome. Not America’s missile shield. Not any “golden dome.” The recent conflict involving Iran showed just how challenging large-scale missile and drone defense can be. Also consider that 582 out of 611 drones were reportedly destroyed. I would like, on behalf of all of us, to thank Ukraine’s air defense personnel for this achievement. For saving hundreds of lives in Kyiv and across Ukraine. You are extraordinary, and we are grateful. We believe in you. Glory to Ukraine! 🇺🇦

ZELENSKYY: Before G7 started, to be honest, we gave message that we are ready to meet with Putin during G7. Because Trump will be there and Macron will be there, Starmer, and Merz. So, Europeans plus America, this is I think a very good opportunity to meet all together. And that's why we were able to invite Russian side, and Europe and the United States agreed on it. But Russia demonstrated again that they are not ready to speak about peace. That's why we have to be ready to push and pressure Putin more and more until he will end this war.

The campaign against human rights defenders seems to be at its hightest. Everywhere. And so shall be the determination to protect human rights, which are not a gift. They are conquest of decades of struggles of women, men, people who fought for freedom. And so shall we continue.
I condemn disinformation campaigns & attempts to undermine the credibility of the UN human rights system, including @UN_SPExperts mandate holders. Criticism & debate are legitimate & necessary; efforts to intimidate, discredit, or even sanction, are not. They are unacceptable. - UN Human Rights Chief @volker_turk

The fact that your government has made it illegal for me to answer yes is a damning testament to your flagrant disregard for civil liberties. This may be targeted at those taking action against the genocide, but it sets a very dangerous precedent that puts everyone at risk.

I was thinking about this too. Russia targeted so many culturally important sites in a day not by accident. They are deliberately erasing our culture.
On a single day, Russian terrorists attacked: - Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra - National Dovzhenko Film Studio - National Reserve «Mystetskyi Arsenal» (Art Arsenal) - Innovative Terminal of Nova Poshta - The building of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) - Educational institutions, including Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv - The House of Organ and Chamber Music in Dnipro - The Center for Children’s and Youth Creativity in Sumy - Kharkiv Zoo - Energy infrastructure - Residential districts and apartment buildings - And other sites. And all of this they call «retaliatory strikes» and claim that the «targets have been hit». These are the kinds of targets they have… Can one possibly be an even greater monster?

In upholding the proscription of Palestine Action, Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr showed she was historically illiterate. Contrary to her claims, the Sufragettes were neither a peaceful civil disobedience group nor did they operate "transparently in the open". Their hundreds of bombing and arson attacks are known to have injured at least two dozen people, many of them postal workers, left with severe burns. Their bomb and arson squads organised this violence through underground cells. Leaders were kept in a network of safe houses to avoid discovery by police. And leader Emmeline Pankhurst used body doubles and assumed names to evade police capture. There's even a 2015 Hollywood movie, Sufragette, showing all this. This sudden level of ignorance by our political and judicial class is entirely manufactured. The Sufragette movement was far, far more violent and clandestine than anything Palestine Action has been doing. That's not an argument against the Suffragettes. It's argument exposing the utter hypocrisy of the politicians, judges and media peddling lies to justify crushing an organisation trying to expose UK government complicity in Israel's genocide.

🚨Hard to overstate how ominous this looks. Niño 3.4 SSTs are already at 29.27°C by June 13, with daily records being obliterated across early/mid June. El Niño is a natural phenomenon. But this is now unfolding on top of a human-warmed ocean background — and that extra heat is helping push the system into record territory.

Among much utter mince uttered by the English Court of Appeal today. Lady Chief Justice Carr said that the suffragettes were non-violent and did not plan any actions in secret. Which is so ignorant of history I don't know where to start...
