The IDF targeted a press tent at the Al-Shifa hospital killing Al Jazeera’s most senior correspondent in Gaza, Anas Al-Sharif, and colleague Mohamed Qreiqeh.
Sharif and Qreiqeh are the 261st and 262nd Palestinian journalists killed by Israel since Oct 2023.

I'm gravely alarmed by the decision of the Israeli Government to "take control of Gaza City".
This marks a dangerous escalation & risks deepening the already catastrophic consequences for millions of Palestinians.
It could further endanger more lives, including of the remaining hostages.
I reiterate my urgent appeal for a permanent ceasefire, unimpeded humanitarian access across Gaza & the immediate & unconditional release of all hostages.

We call on @MarkJCarney to join @EmmanuelMacron in recognizing the State of Palestine. Unlike the text below, however, it must be done immediately and without conditions.
The ICJ has clearly stated that the right of Palestinians to self-determination is inalienable and cannot be conditioned on the demands of the illegal occupier.
However, as a mostly symbolic gesture, recognition must be accompanied by concrete sanctions to force Israel to end its illegal and illegitimate presence in the occupied Palestinian territory.

Fidèle à son engagement historique pour une paix juste et durable au Proche-Orient, j’ai décidé que la France reconnaîtra l’État de Palestine.
J’en ferai l’annonce solennelle à l’Assemblée générale des Nations unies, au mois de septembre prochain.
L’urgence est aujourd’hui que cesse la guerre à Gaza et que la population civile soit secourue.
La paix est possible.
Il faut immédiatement un cessez-le-feu, la libération de tous les otages et une aide humanitaire massive à la population de Gaza. Il faut aussi garantir la démilitarisation du Hamas, sécuriser et reconstruire Gaza. Il faut enfin bâtir l’État de Palestine, assurer sa viabilité et permettre qu’en acceptant sa démilitarisation et en reconnaissant pleinement Israël, il participe à la sécurité de tous au Proche-Orient.
Il n’y a pas d’alternative.
Les Français veulent la paix au Proche-Orient. Il nous appartient, à nous Français, avec les Israéliens, les Palestiniens, nos partenaires européens et internationaux, de démontrer que c’est possible.
À la lumière des engagements que le président de l’Autorité palestinienne a pris auprès de moi, je lui ai donc écrit ma détermination à avancer.
Confiance, clarté et engagement.
Nous gagnerons la paix.

I am appalled by the deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The last lifelines for survival are being cut off. Without an urgent influx of fuel, incubators will shut down, ambulances will be unable to reach the injured and sick, and water cannot be purified.
The @UN has a clear and proven plan, rooted in the humanitarian principles, to get vital assistance to civilians – safely and at scale, wherever they are.
I renew my call for an immediate permanent ceasefire and for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages.

“Mom, forgive me… I took this path to help people.”
A video found on the phone of one of the paramedics executed days ago in Rafah—part of a group of 15—completely refutes the Israeli army’s narrative. It documents the moment they were directly fired upon, showing clearly that the vehicles involved were ambulances and civil defense units, with no resemblance to military vehicles as claimed by the occupation.
This painful scene is not just a record of a crime, but a bleeding testimony added to a long list of evidence proving the deliberate targeting of humanitarian teams—yet another lie exposed in Israel’s efforts to justify killing.

“If you’re reading this, it means I have been killed—most likely targeted—by the Israeli occupation forces. When this all began, I was only 21 years old—a college student with dreams like anyone else. For past 18 months, I have dedicated every moment of my life to my people. I documented the horrors in northern Gaza minute by minute, determined to show the world the truth they tried to bury. I slept on pavements, in schools, in tents—anywhere I could. Each day was a battle for survival. I endured hunger for months, yet I never left my people’s side.
By God, I fulfilled my duty as a journalist. I risked everything to report the truth, and now, I am finally at rest—something I haven’t known in the past 18 months . I did all this because I believe in the Palestinian cause. I believe this land is ours, and it has been the highest honor of my life to die defending it and serving its people.

A group of settlers just lynched Hamdan Ballal, co director of our film no other land. They beat him and he has injuries in his head and stomach, bleeding. Soldiers invaded the ambulance he called, and took him. No sign of him since.
